We have BIG news! We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
Our Story:
I met my husband in 2020 right in the start of the pandemic. He had a sweet little girl, who was 3 at the time, and going through an extensive court battle. I quickly fell in love and knew this would be my new family and the beginning to a new start.
We married in 2023 at a lovely flower farm with our family and friends. Bringing together the love of two people, two lovely puppies and 10 chickens. Unfortunately still going through the rough patches of court, this long process started to eat at us in finances. We had always spoke about wanting to add to our family, so in early 2024 we started the process. Unfortunately things didn’t go as we hoped and it ended in a miscarriage (DNC). Shortly after that we were yet again taken back to court for the 5th time, now with medical bills and court fees.
In July one day I was doing dishes. I stopped midway and heard the voice of God say “I can only do one thing at a time.” I felt like he was choosing to help my daughter rather than giving us a baby. I struggled at first to accept this, but over time we decided we wanted to adopt. We felt like this was God's path for us.
While I was waiting for my body to heal and hoping we could try again, I received an unexpected call in October with the heartbreaking news that my grandmother had passed away. It felt like another deep loss, and my heart was shattered all over again. My body never fully recovered, and we haven’t been able to try for a baby since. Now, a year has passed since the miscarriage, and with each day that goes by, we continue to focus on our new goal: adoption.
It would mean the world to us to bring home a baby for our family. We are incredibly grateful for the support we will receive as we embark on our adoption journey. The love, encouragement, and kindness from everyone has meant the world to us. The belief in our dream has given us strength during challenging times and has reminded us that we are not alone in this process.
