We are excited to tell you we are adopting!

Heather and I have been married almost five years and had always planned to have children of our own, but this has not yet been part of God’s plan. We began fostering which has been an overall great experience and a huge blessing to our family. After much prayer and consideration, God has led us to adoption. We are in the process of finishing the last few pieces of our home study paperwork and hope to have the home study completed soon.

I am a RN/paramedic and Heather is a teacher. We have three dogs and live in a rural area with lots of space to roam and play. We are very close to both sides of our family and have a very supportive church family.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that can see daunting and often overwhelms adoptive parents. The good news for you is that you are not only helping us, but by going through AdoptTogether, your donation is tax deductible.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our family. We ask you to also pray. Some specific prayer points are:

  1. The birth mom. We have not yet been matched, but God knows who she is. She will have agreed to give this child life and will be choosing to entrust us with him/her.
  2. Us. Parenting a newborn will be a new experience for us, and we want to glorify God throughout this process.
  3. The baby/babies. Pray for their physical, spiritual, and mental health. Pray for their future.
  4. Baptist Children’s Home. We are working through this organization, and several people are at work to reach birth moms, help them through the decision and process, and share the Gospel.

    Good news!

    December 1, 2025

    After what seems like a long wait, the wait is over! In the last 48 hours, we have brought into our home one of the most precious boys ever. We haven't been promoting the fundraising much as it is hard to ask in the waiting. So many friends, family, and people we may never know have been extremely kind and generous. It also amazes me the number of people who have prayed. We thank you all!

    We ask first and foremost that you pray for this child, for us, and for his biological family. We do ask you to consider contributing monetarily if you have not as the expenses are not yet covered. We don't know what the total amount is that will be needed, but we will also be on the road ensuring his medical needs are met. Whether a little or a lot, we thank you again for your prayer and/or monetary support. God is working through it all.

    Now the wait...

    The home study is complete, and the program fee is paid. As of this week we are on the waiting list to be matched to a birth mom. We are also pursuing a couple different grants and looking at other fundraising options. Thank you again for your prayers and support!
