We have been married for 14-years and on our fertility journey for over ten. During those years we have undergone numerous test with fertility clinics and experienced eleven miscarriages. But our desire to become parents has not diminished. God has continued to provide us with love from our community, grace to support one another, and a desire to keep pursuing the family He has for us.
With our latest results, our hearts have turned to adoption and we would love to have your support on this new journey. We will be pursuing a unique form of adoption called snowflake adoption. A snowflake is a frozen embryo, which another couple fertilized through IVF in the hope of using for their own pregnancy. When these couples are done growing their family, they may have embryos left over which they can then choose to dump, continue to freeze, or donate. The embryo we will adopt has been frozen and waiting for us. What makes this style of adoption even more special is that Sarah will get the opportunity to carry our baby through pregnancy and delivery.
We will add one note about the science. If for whatever reason your beliefs about IVF do not align with our choice to adopt this way, that is fine. We believe that, whether naturally in the womb or through science in the laboratory, it is always God who sparks life. This is not a space to argue your points for or against embryo adoption. But if you want to learn more about the process and why so many families are choosing to pursue it you can explore the research at NightLight Adoptions.
We could not be more excited for this new season and want to start the process as soon as possible with your help. We are hoping to raise $20,000 to see this adoption come to fruition. That amount includes our application fees, home study, transportation of our embryo, legal fees, and IVF treatments. We would love your prayers most of all in this season. Many of you have walked with us through seasons of grief and loss for the last ten years and we are so grateful for your love and grace as we have grown. Pray that God's joy will multiply in this season and that our child can be a light in this world.
All our love, Sarah & Jeremy
We are posting our 'official' announcement today, praising God for getting us through this first trimester. We knew this season would be the hardest - waiting, praying, and holding our breath to see if this one wouldn't survive like the others. And while we are still anxious, we are feeling ever so grateful for God getting us this far, and choosing to celebrate every day of this pregnancy.
We love you all and are so grateful for your love and support through this whole process. Onwards and upwards towards the second trimester.

Sarah has been feeling nauseous which is a great sign that baby is thriving. We had another ultrasound at Week 9 and it was confirmed that we have one strong healthy baby. We are so excited that things are going well, while also taking the time to pause and grieve the loss of our second embryo.
We met with our midwife this last week to do an initial appointment and she was so generous with our hearts, providing wisdom about how Sarah's body might carry grief after she gives birth and sharing a special pregnancy app for 'pregnancy after miscarriage.' We definitely made the right choice with her and are excited for our upcoming appointments.
So far Sarah's bloodwork is continuing to look good and her fertility doctor is starting to ween her off of some of her shots, which she will wrap up fully after 12 weeks. She can't wait and I can't either.
We would just like to ask for continued prayer for Sarah's and the baby's health. We want that baby to continue to thrive. We also ask for prayers for our midwife, Heather, that she will be able to continue her care with us in a kind and loving fashion. Prayers for me would be appreciated as well as we continue down this path that God would give me wisdom, patience and most importantly peace throughout all of this since I have absolutely no control over any of it...which kind of terrifies me.
Thank you and we love you all!

Well - we are over the moon to share that we are pregnant! I went in for an HCG blood test on Monday, December 3rd, and we were hoping my numbers would register between 30-100. But God worked a miraculously, and I am already registering at 329!! This is not just a solid positive that we are pregnant but a strong indicator that there are multiples!!
We are praising God for the work He has already done in sparking life in my womb, and we continue to covet your prayers because we are entering the scariest phase of this process for us. As you know, all of our pregnancies have been lost in the first trimester, so there is some built-in anxiety that comes with the joy of a new pregnancy. Please pray that our joy will be greater than our fear. Pray that our babies will continue to thrive and grow to meet their milestones. Pray that we will not just make it through the first trimester but will be able to carry these babies to full term.
We love you all and are so grateful for the love, support, and prayers you've given us - they have sincerely helped us get to this point in one piece.
Blessings upon blessings to you and your family this season,
-Sarah & Jeremy
Well, the shots have been rough, but they are helping my body to be fully ready for the frozen embryo transfer Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023. Our appointment is at 8:30am to do a final ultrasound, then thaw and assess the two embryos we have chosen for transfer. Once they are reviewed by the embryologist, we will implant them around 11:30am.
Send all the prayers, good vibes, and happy thoughts our way that the embryos survive thawing, are viable, and attach after implantation.
And join us with a special tradition to get McDonald's fries! There is a tradition in the fertility community to get McDonald's fries on transfer days for luck and we would love you to send us a picture of you and your family sharing some so we know you're thinking, praying, and supporting us especially on implantation day.
All our love,
Sarah & Jeremy Brummel
Happy Thursday! We have an official implantation date of November 22nd, 2023! Right before Thanksgiving in the U.S., which is fun and memorable.
Today we are starting a kind of PRAYER COUNTDOWN where we ask you to pray for something specific each day as we get closer to implantation and today is our BIOFAMILY!
You only get to hear our side of the story, which is only a little piece of what God has been doing, but not necessarily about the others who have been apart of this long process. Our biofamily (matched family who donated their embryos) underwent health issues, an egg retrieval, and a round of IVF to create their family. They have two beautiful kids - one who was conceived through IVF and one who was conceived naturally - and at that point they believed they were done growing their family. We are grateful to them for believing that their embryos deserve a chance at life and even more grateful that they have chosen us to help raise them.
There are only a few things we can tell you about our biofamily because we respect their privacy and are protecting our child's story, but here are a few fun facts we can share...
1) biomom is caucasian and has fair skin and brown curly hair.
2) biodad is Indian and has dark hair and brown eyes.
3) their kids take after dad and are outgoing, beautiful, and healthy.
4) they are military and just moved overseas so getting our contracts signed was a little challenging but they were so dedicated to the process they went above and beyond to get things completed.
Today we want you to pray for PEACE for our biofamily - peace for their hearts and minds in this process. Peace that we are doing things by the book to give their babies the best chance at life. Peace that we will love and support them each and every day. Peace that God is still at work and will spark life. Peace that they will have the opportunity to have relationship with our kids if they desire it one day. Peace that truly surpasses all understanding.
We hope you will join us in prayer as we start to plan for implantation next week.
Again, we are so grateful for your support and prayers.
Shalom,
Sarah & Jeremy
