We have BIG news! As many of our friends and family know, we decided long ago that having a child by traditional means was not in the cards for us due to the challenges of Type 1 diabetes. Despite these challenges, our hearts are full of hope and excitement for the possibility of growing our family through adoption.
So…. We are starting the adoption process! We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.
Adoption is a journey that requires both emotional and financial commitment, and the costs associated with it can be overwhelming. We are reaching out to our community for help in making our dream of becoming parents a reality. By supporting us, you’ll be helping us provide a safe, nurturing home for a child who needs it — a place where they can grow, thrive, and feel truly loved.
It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $35,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
The funds will go directly toward adoption fees, legal expenses, home studies, and the various costs involved in ensuring that we are fully prepared to welcome a child into our lives. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a family.

For those of you who don't know us, we are Ellie and Artair. We have been together for 20 years, married for 18 years. Artair was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2009 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Since then, we have moved from Denver, Colorado to just outside of San Antonio, TX and built a life around our small farm where grow fruit trees & garden plants and raise chickens, ducks, goats, turkeys, and more. Artair is retired from the Air Force and makes sure the farm runs smoothly. Ellie works for a Broker Dealer based in Colorado doing graphic design and technology support.
