Alejandro and Melissa Castillo

are adopting 2 children from Belize

Hi! My name is Melissa and my husband is Alejandro. Together we are raising two girls at an orphanage in punta Gorda, Belize. Our goal is to make those two girl our daughters forever.

I have been a missionary at Laugh Out Loud Children's Home in Punta Gorda, Belize, for almost six years. Three months into my initial stay in 2017, I was paired with one of the children, "D", as her foster mom on campus. That moment would change my life. Over the past six years, she and I have created a close bond. We have had ups and downs, but I have treated her as my own and have raised her for all these years.

In 2022, I got married to my husband, Alejandro, and he left his job to move to LOL to help raise the children in our home. A few months later, "D"'s sister "A" moved into our house and we have now bonded with her as well. We have seen what our family looks like in this home and we would like to make it official.

Alejandro and I can't see our lives without these two teen girls. I recently gave birth to our biological daughter, and from day 1 these girls have called her their little sister. We are now taking the steps to make this our forever family. We look forward to becoming legal parents to these two girls through adoption.

It is a requirement for me to become a citizen of Belize in order for me to stay in Belize with the girls during the adoption process otherwise I would need to return to the US, away from them while I work on adoption, so I am currently working through citizenship as well as trying to begin the adoption because these girls are 13 and 15 years old. We need this process to move quickly before they turn 18 years old. We also need the finances in order to proceed quickly with the adoption.

Although we don't plan to leave Laugh Out Loud Children's Home anytime soon, the girls will know that they have a family so wherever we go, they go. We will forever be united in love through adoption.

Cost includes: 1. Citizenship 2. Medical exams/lab work for both citizenship and adoption 3. Police records for both citizenship and adoption 4. Attorney fees, court processing fees

Alejandro and I, as well as the 2 girls, would greatly appreciate your help to legally bring our family together. Any amount will bring us one step closer to these girls becoming our daughters.

***Sorry. Due to government regulations, we are not allowed to show their faces at this time.
