are adopting a child from India

Don’t miss the prayer requests, a link to purchase shirts, and other ways to get involved towards the bottom of this page!

After a year and a half of compiling paperwork, waiting on approvals, praying, and parenting our three crazy and energetic biological children, we’ve been matched with a one-year-old girl from southern India. We are beyond excited to meet her and bring her home!

Our little girl will be named Haddie - after Queen Esther’s Hebrew name, Hadassah. Hadassah was an orphan that God used to help save and preserve His people, so we believe this is a fitting namesake for our adopted child.

Haddie was less than 2 pounds when she was born and has a cleft lip and cleft palate. She is now just 14 pounds at 15 months old - small but mighty! Despite the fact that she has endured more hardship in one year than we have in our entire lives, she is smiling and full of spunk in the pictures and videos we have seen!

In addition to the significant costs associated with adopting a child, our doctors estimate Haddie will require between 5 and 15 surgeries throughout her childhood. We are fervently asking first and foremost for prayers of protection over Haddie while she is in India, that she would be able to grow to a healthier weight, that her caretakers would be given endurance, patience, and compassion, and that her current and future doctors would have wisdom and steady hands.

We praise God for the truth of Ephesians 1:5, that “He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”

We would be honored to have you come alongside us in this journey, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to hear more about how the Lord led us to adoption!

The design of the shirts reflects important Indian cultural symbols - the Himalayas, tigers and elephants all hold deep cultural significance in India. The tigers and elephants might also be a nod to the deep cultural significance Alabama and Auburn carry in our household… Most importantly, the text says, “Do not be silent for such a time as this - Esther”. This felt fitting given Haddie is named after Queen Esther. It is written in Kannada, the language spoken in Haddie’s city.
