We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.
As part of our adoption process, we have started this campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs in California can easily total up to $40,000-$70,000! This is why we have set a goal of raising $37,000 to help ease the financial hurdle that often overwhelms adoptive parents as we work towards bringing our baby home.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
There are so many pieces to the puzzle and we invite you to be one of them!
We are thrilled to share with you the exciting news that we are now officially home study approved as part of our adoption journey! The past few months have been a whirlwind of learning, self-reflection, and preparation as we completed over 80 hours of classes, certifications, and social worker interviews.
We are overjoyed that we have reached this important milestone in our adoption process and are looking forward to the next steps. Our next task is to create a Profile Book, which we will present to the birth family when they are making their decision. This book will give them a glimpse into our lives, personalities, and values, and help them understand why we would be the perfect family for their child.
Once our Profile Book is completed, we will begin applying to adoption agencies in the hopes of finding a match that is just right for our family. We cannot wait to meet our future child and welcome them into our loving home.
We are so grateful for the support and encouragement we have received from all of you throughout this journey. Your love and positivity have meant the world to us and have helped us stay strong during the ups and downs of the process. We are excited to continue sharing updates with you as we move forward on this amazing adventure.

With Superbowl on Sunday, we decided to organize a Superbowl squares fundraiser!
Prizes are $25-$100 gift cards to Starbucks and Amazon.
Pick by Sunday at 10am - we will mail prizes, so players can be anywhere.

Lots of great stuff have been happening as we progress along in the process for our Home Study.
We are excited to share that we will be hosting a fundraiser at Rubio's in Vista this Sunday, January 24th, from 11am to 8pm to raise funds for our adoption expenses. We would love for you to come out and join us for a fun-filled day of delicious food and drinks while supporting a great cause.
We understand that the adoption process can be both exciting and expensive and we are grateful for any and all support we receive. We hope that you will come out and show your support for us and for adoption.
We would like to extend a special invitation to our friends and family to come out and support us, but the fundraiser is open to everyone and we would love to see new faces too! So, come one, come all and let's make this fundraiser a success.

Wow! We have just started our adoption journey and the outpouring of love and support is amazing. We have embarked on the first steps of the process and are fully underway with our adoption consultant and knee deep in our home study.
They say to expect a lot of paperwork, and they are certainly not kidding! We purchased a 1.5” binder to use to keep our adoption paperwork organized and it’s so filled that we are almost ready to upgrade to a larger size already!
But we have never been so happy to do paperwork!
As part of the home study process, we are assigned online classes to take, podcasts to listen to and articles to read so that we will have a good base of knowledge about what to expect as adoptive parents and we are loving it. We are also in the process of getting CPR certified through the American Red Cross.
