Daniel and I have been married for 12 years and have two precious kiddos, Bennett (8) and Jenna (5). From the beginning of our marriage, we’ve known that adoption would be a part of our family dynamics. We’ve prayed considerably in the last few years about what that would look like and the Lord brought us to international adoption.
Currently, we are fundraising to help with the cost of the adoption and legal fees as well as travel and lodging for the trip(s) required to finalize the adoption and bring our child home. The cost to adopt internationally can total $35,000+. Our particular program is about $40,000. We will contribute our own income along the way, but have chosen adopttogether.org as a tax deductible option for those that wish to contribute to the cost to bring our child home.
Through lots of prayer and considerable research, we have picked an agency and feel led to adopt from Bulgaria. This is in part due to the restrictions we have for travel times to finalize the adoption, as well as following the Lord’s lead. We believe incorporating our child’s culture is an important part of their healthy development, and Bulgaria feels like the right fit for our family.

We’re so extremely excited about this process, and equally as nervous. Adoption is a bittersweet choice. It’s a call to joy as much as it is a call to suffering. It’s excitment and it’s heartbreak. Somehow it’s also wholeness AND brokenness. And we’re choosing all of it.
