WE'RE ADOPTING AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $55,000 or more with little financial support options available. Even more surprising to us was how quickly large sums of.money are due within short time frames. As an example, $10,000 or more is often due within 9 days of being accepted to a program. Once accepted, a home study has to be completed before your profile is even shown to birth families which can range up to another $5,000. That's $15,000 before you can even hope to be matched. For us, that could take up to a year to save on our own.
We are saving as much as we can and will be applying for grants as well. We've waited so long to grow our family that now weo we're opening our hearts and our story to try everything within our power to grow our family.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will be part of the story we share with our child about the outpouring of love, support and community that connected us with their birth family and gave us the privelage to welcome them into our lives.
We will be hosting fundraising events along the way and will be updating this page with opportunities to gather our friends, family, and community to help support us in this journey!
A Fun Way to Donate/Contribute
Our journey is one that has bloomed and grown - like a garden. So for everyone that contributes to our journey, we would be honored to plant a flower in the garden that leads into our home. A garden that will flank the path into our home we eventually hope to walk down with our new child as we welcome them into our home for the first time, surrounded by reminders of those who helped get us there. A garden we can nurture together as our child grows and one that will help us plant the seed about the importance of helping others in need and paying it forward to all who come in contact with us.
