Welcome to our adoption page!
Thank you for considering a donation towards our journey to parenthood. It has been a difficult journey, but hopefully one that will have a happy ending.
Anjali, the hopeful adoptive Mama, is a Special Education teacher who spends each day with kids who have developmental disabilities. She volunteered in Guatemala for a year and has always had a passion for adoption.
Ram, the hopeful adoptive Dad, works at Honda of North America in purchasing and business. He adores children, including his many nieces and nephews! He has always wanted to be a dad.
As a couple, we love to travel all over the world together, volunteer, and stay active by running 5Ks and other races! Anjali grows vegetables in the summer, scuba dives, and plays the piano. Ram watches every Cleveland Cavs game on TV, and likes DIY projects around the house, and loves finding unique restaurants for us to try around Columbus, Ohio. We also work closely with a dog rescue organization in our area, and love our foster and adopted "furbabies!"
We have had 3 failed pregnancies. The first one was a totally unexpected delivery at 18 weeks. We were out of town when we went into labor, and this was the hardest time of our lives. The baby was a beautiful baby boy, and we named him Sanjay. We were devastated, and it took us a long time to recover. The next loss we experienced was in the first trimester. Even though this is more common, it was yet another blow that we had to bear. This past year, we got pregnant again with a girl. Her name was Kavitha. At 19 weeks, we found out the baby had an extremely rare condition called Body Stalk Anomaly, which is incompatible with life. The condition caused physical deformities that affected almost every part of her body. We were in a state of grief and pain to learn about this, and ultimately Kavitha did not survive past 20 weeks.
We have been told that future pregnancies are possible, but extremely high risk. We met with a Reproductive Endocrinologist, who offered us the option to try more intensive treatment. We considered this option, but ultimately decided to try to give a child the chance to share our lives and experience the blessing of adoption.
After waiting with an adoption agency in our state for 2 years, we did not match with an expectant mother. This was another challenging loss in our eyes, as we had high hopes for this process. We are now working with an adoption consultant to fulfill a deep yearning for a baby in our lives. We are hoping to connect with an expectant mother anywhere in the USA, which will increase the costs to us as opposed to adopting in-state.
We are hoping to adopt a child aged 0-3, and are open to twins, siblings, or babies with in utero exposure. We are open to children of any race, and would welcome the opportunity to parent a child outside of our own race.
We are making a 500 piece puzzle for our future child's bedroom, which will have the name/picture of everyone who donated! See sample in the pictures above. You can donate a set amount of money, or consider sponsoring one or more pieces for $20 per piece. It will be a fun way for the child to see all the people who made our adoptive family dream come true!
We are grateful to you for reading our story, and giving us this opportunity to become parents. Sending good vibes your way!
Warmly, Anjali and Ram Das
