We’re trying again.
Michael and I have been on the adoption journey for two years with a marketing agency that’s done very little for us. We were though happily chosen by a birth mother in January 2023. All of our anxiety quickly turned to prep work as we prepared and stocked her nursery but it also created a new anxiety. Our birth mother was homeless and on drugs, due in March right around my birthday, and while we were stressed we were thankful to finally have our family. Our photographer was booked, the nursery finished, and our bags were packed. Unfortunately, just days after our sweet girl was born, she died from a genetic heart deformation. Our happiest moments were stricken down with unimaginable grief.
We have spent over $50,000 to make this dream a reality and it unfortunately vanished before we could say hello. After a lot of thought, we just don’t want to give up on our dream of bringing home a baby. We are in contact with a different, local Florida agency in hopes of starting fresh. With a much better reputation and higher odds, we feel confident that Evermore can help us make our dreams come true. The estimated costs are between $50-60 thousand. We’re actively saving as much as we can but don’t believe we’ll be able to make our goal in time.
We understand this is an exuberant amount of money and asking for help has been something we’ve avoided throughout our two year journey but we’ve done all we can by ourselves. Every repost and donation can make the difference. We’ve been humbled through this experience. It takes a village to raise a child, and now it takes a village to bring one home.
Thank you so much for even just reading our story and a bigger thank you to those who are supporting our journey.
