Hello again! We are excited to announce that we have welcomed our 3rd son, through adoption. Everett was born in July and was a very happy and very unexpected blessing.
Adoption is a huge part of our lives and we are so thankful to be a part of this amazing community. We brought our 1st son home 8 years ago, which was the last time we created a page on this platform. Our original blog is still live, (http://thebabydavis.weebly.com/) if you would like to read more about our journey all those years ago. 3 years later we adopted again and our 2nd son joined the bunch. We wanted to continue to add to our family after that, but the financial burden seemed too great and we just didn’t think we would be able to manage it. However, as the years went on we realized that money isn’t a good enough reason to not give a child a loving home. To not give our boys the sibling they desperately wanted and to not grow our family the way we ourselves so badly desired. So, we started praying. There was only one thing we knew for sure…Our God is bigger than all of it. We decided that if God wanted us to have more children, He would provide. We stepped out in faith and completed a home study. We told ourselves, “We’ll just take it slow…” “Whatever is supposed to happen, will happen…” and “It will be made clear when the time is right…”. We didn’t even apply to any agencies. We had plans to get our house a little more together. We would take time to save some more money . You know, just take it “One. Step. At. A. Time….” Well, God is in control and he also has a sense of humor. A few weeks later, the agency we worked with before, reached out to us. They asked if we were still considering moving forward with another adoption. They informed us of a baby boy due in just over a month. The agency thought our family would be a perfect fit and asked if we would like to be considered. We were in shock, but obviously felt this was God moving in our lives. We spent the next few minutes wracking our brains, trying to figure out how we could make this happen…when the phone rang. It had been no more than 30 minutes since we responded to the email. He was here. He came 6 weeks early. 4 days later, we were holding him in the NICU. The next few weeks were filled with more miracles than we ever could have imagined. Followed by a few scary twists and turns over the next few months. Including, 2 separate emergency surgeries in the same week! Everett is a tough one, though. He’s our little survivor. His name actually means, “Brave” and he definitely lives up to it. We feel incredibly blessed to be his family.
The Lord made a way for us to bring our baby home and to give him what he needed in the process. We did acquire a loan to cover expenses and that’s what brings us back to Adopt Together. We are hoping to pay off our debt. Who knows??? By doing so, it may just give us the freedom to say yes if we ever get that crazy call again!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
Love,
The Davis Family
