are adopting a child from United States of America

We hope this message finds you well. We have some exciting news to share with you, and we couldn't wait any longer to let you in on our journey. As some of you may already know, we have embarked on the path of adoption, and we are filled with joy and anticipation as we navigate this process.

We have chosen private domestic adoption as the avenue through which we hope to expand our family. While we acknowledge that there are various paths to adoption, including foster care, we wanted to share some insights into our decision.

Foster care is an incredibly vital system that primarily aims for family reunification whenever possible. It provides temporary care for children in need while working towards a safe and stable environment for them to return to their biological families. It's a commendable and essential service that focuses on the well-being of the child and the preservation of biological familial connections.

In our case, we have intentionally chosen private adoption because we desire a unique situation where the birth mother is making the courageous and selfless decision to place her child for adoption out of love and by choice. Private adoption allows us to be part of this intentional and loving process, forging a connection with the birth mother and creating a foundation built on mutual understanding and respect.

However, with this choice comes additional expenses and fees. Private adoption, unlike foster care, incurs costs associated with legal processes, counseling services, and agency support. These expenses contribute to creating a secure and supportive environment for both the birth mother and the adoptive family.

We want to be transparent about these differences and share our reasons for choosing private adoption. Our decision is rooted in the belief that every child deserves a loving and stable home, and we are committed to providing that for our future family member.

As we navigate this exciting but financially costly journey, we are reaching out to you, our dear family & friends, not out of obligation but with a humble request. We recognize that everyone has their own financial priorities, and your support may not be possible. Please know that there is absolutely no pressure, and your love, prayers, and well-wishes are more than enough!

For those who may be in a position to contribute, any amount, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us offset the costs associated with adoption. We have set up this AdoptTogether page where you can make tax-deductible contributions towards the adoption, and receive updates on our family's growth journey. We are deeply grateful for any support you can provide.

Above all, we want to express our gratitude for your love, encouragement, and friendship. Your support (financial or otherwise) means the world to us, and we are fortunate to have you by our side as we embark on this incredible journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our adoption adventure. We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress and sharing the joyous moments that lie ahead.

With heartfelt thanks and warmest regards,

Ryan & Tammie Davis

    Unfortunate News

    September 28, 2024

In my last message I'd informed everyone that we'd been matched. In reality, that wasn't the full story. The truth is that we actually have spent the past week caring for a newborn baby boy. We have been bonding with him and caring for him through a lot of sweet, but sleepless nights. We have been leaving in Tennessee since Sunday night. Unfortunately for us, we just got the call that the birthmother has decided to parent (as is her right).

This makes the 3rd failed match within the past year but marks the furthest we've ever been in this process. At the moment we are holding this baby in our arms waiting for the birthmom to come pick him up.

If you're interested in further support you can help in the following ways:

    1. Pray. This is devastating and we need help from above to get through this.

    2. Share this crowd-funding link with anyone you think would be able and willing to support. We've incurred significant expenses from lawyer fees, pediatrician visits, travel, and living expenses from living in another state. So every little bit helps.

    We've been matched!

    September 23, 2024

Waiting to be matched can be a difficult time. In our case it has felt like radio silence. So... You have to keep living your life. We had decided to take an impromptu trip to the NC Zoo in Asheboro, and figured that if nothing else, we'd get more pics to use in our adoption profile.

No sooner do we walk through the gets them we get a call from Lifetime Adoptions about a Birth Mother in Nashville, TN! And it only gets more interesting from there
