Kevin and Megan Dever

are adopting a child from United States of America

Hi friends! 🤍 We’re the Devers, and we are prayerfully pursuing domestic infant adoption. Our story is a long and different one. We have been married for nearly 8 years. Shortly after getting married we began trying to grow our family and were ultimately diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We prayed long and hard for direction and knew that adoption was always in our hearts. In early 2020 after settling down in Alabama after Kevin’s time in the military, we started paperwork for our chosen consultation group and began acquiring the necessary clearances to go active.

We became active in September of 2020. We received more than 150 cases and presented to well over 100 of those expectant mamas. Last month, February 2022, we got the call. We were matched! Our baby was due this June, and we were thrilled and so thankful. The three weeks that followed were a blur. Our sweet expectant mama was almost immediately diagnosed with some very concerning medical issues, and on February 25, our son was born via emergency c-section at just shy of 24 weeks. We frantically packed bags, booked flights, and flew to meet our son and his first mama. Our hearts were nervous but overjoyed. Daniel was officially ours on March 1st, and while his NICU stay would be a very long one, we were so optimistic he would meet every challenge head on and thrive.

March 2nd brought our world to a screeching halt. Our son’s health was failing and failing fast. We fell to our knees in prayer. His little body was struggling so hard, and we were faced with the unbelievable and gut wrenching reality that our precious baby wouldn’t make it. Daniel passed from my arms and into those of our loving Savior at 11:37pm that night.

We miss our son more than words. We can’t believe that this is our story. Instead of leaving the hospital with our son, hopeful and excited for the future, we left with molds of his hands and feet and utterly broken hearts.

While we mourn the passing of our sweet Daniel, we know our family’s story doesn’t end here. We’re taking it one day at a time, but we want nothing more than to bring our baby home and one day tell him or her about their amazing big brother and how they together have made us parents.

As you can imagine, we have been met with many expenses including but not limited to: travel and lodging, hospital bills, and agency fees. Any and all help would be appreciated as we continue to pursue the Lord’s calling on our lives to adopt.

We can’t thank you enough for your love and support!
