We have BIG news!!!! We’re adopting!!!! We have dreamed of continuing our adoption journey to bring our final daughter, ‘Z’ home from Bulgaria! Our two little miracles,River and Olive, are so excited! Jake and I are so incredibly grateful for the joy and privilege to be parents a third time! Z is an incredible, sweet, gentle girl who is also living with many medical and special needs. Adoption and medical fees quickly add up. We are determined to bring Z home to our loving family but we need a strong Villiage. There are several ways our Villiage can help. One way is a gift towards covering Z’s adoption fees. We very humbly share that the expenses and fees to cover adoption usually add up to $35,000. We would be so incredibly thankful for any gift you find in your hearts. A second way our villiage can help is through prayers covering our little girl until we can bring her home, and for the 4 of us as we prepare for her homecoming. The third way you can help is through your love and support! Adoption is a long long process and we would adore any encouragement and kind words. Thank you. Thank you for being our Villiage. Thank you for helping us bring Z home!!
We are so excited!! We got THE call yesterday that our travel dates for Trip 1 have been offered!! We leave the US December 14 to go meet our sweet Zephyr Ana sign documents in country!!
We are so excited!! Our dossier officially arrived in Bulgaria the last week in September. It has gone up to the MOJ for the final approval and then we will be officially inscribed in the registry as adoptive parents. This is a time of quiet and waiting…..the next word we will revive is our travel dates for Trip 1 to go meet our sweet girl!! River is already packed, and I was able to order our Bulgarian money for the trip from a bank in Columbus!!! So we picked that up yesterday. When we receive our travel dates we will hopefully also get an updated photo of Zephyr too.
Adoption is a long journey and we are so thankful for each one of you cheering us on and being part of our family as we bring Zephyr home!! She will be ONE LESS!
Suddenly the summer is drawing to a close and I’m not sure where it went!! Things have been busy in the Dickens family and even though we haven’t posted an update in a minute, big things are happening!! Our homestudy is finished, we are officially matched with Little Z, and we are just waiting on USCIS to send the approval letter for the i800a and then we will be able to submit our dossier to Bulgaria! Once the dossier is submitted we should travel on Trip 1 within 8-10 weeks from that point! We can’t wait for Trip 1!
We are eager to meet our little girl!
We were absolutely thrilled this week for the letter of invitation to do our biometrics at USCIS arrived! The appointment we were assigned was to be the day after Jake was leaving-but thankfully we were able to get the appointments switched to Friday morning at 8 am! It felt like such a big step forward to get that done!! The next big milestone will be receiving the I800a approval!
This has been a full week!! We’ve finished all our training with CCAI except a course we will take this fall! The other super thrilling news is that our dossier is all complete and ready to send to Bulgaria as soon as the I 800a approval arrives!! Jake and I are also doing well with learning more Bulgarian.
Thank you so much for following along and being part of our adventure to bring little Z home!!
