The Doss family is growing! We are SO thrilled announce that we are adopting a child!
Through several years of longing to become parents, God softly placed adoption on our hearts through seemingly random conversations, family members’ adoption journeys and our own struggles with infertility.
We are so overwhelmed with love for our future child, and hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Above all, we would love to have your prayerful support. Prayers for us, as well as the expectant mom and baby we will eventually be matched with.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the prayers and financial support over the past several months as we plan to add to our family through adoption. Since our last update, our fundraising shirts have arrived (YAY) and on June 28, 2022 we officially became a waiting family! This comes with lots of excitement and anticipation, as well as grief and empathy for the expectant mommas involved in the adoption process. We continue to pray for the peace, health and well-being of the expectant mom and baby we will eventually be matched with.
Since we have become a waiting family, we have been doing everything we can to save up for our upcoming expenses. Alex started working full-time at Disney, we moved into a little apartment to save on rent, gas, and tolls traveling to and from work, and Alex's Etsy shop is still chugging along.
After making budget cuts, lifestyle changes and applying for a line of credit, we are still about $25,000 short of the average cost of a domestic adoption. Some expenses involved in the adoption process include agency fees due at match, attorney's fees, medical and living expenses for the expectant mom, as well as other miscellaneous expenses.
While our financial goal can seem insurmountable at times, we are still so hopeful that God will provide a way for us to make this adoption a reality- we just aren't sure what that will look like yet. All we know is that His timing is perfect, and He will make a way. Right now we ask for you to continue to pray for us, as well as the expectant momma and baby we will be matched with. Pray for our peace, God's provision and his perfect plan to prevail. Lastly, if you are in a position to prayerfully consider giving, we are so thankful for contributions both big and small.
We love our village, and can't wait to see how God works on our hearts through this process.
Our home study has been approved! YAY!! This means that an agent came to our home, conducted various interviews, reviewed several references and extensive applications and paperwork and determined that we are fit to be adoptive parents! While the home study is the first step toward being matched, we still have quite a ways to go! Right now we are waiting on our profile book to be complete. The profile book is filled with pictures and stories about Korey and I as individuals and as a couple. It is important because it gives an expectant momma a glimpse of who we are and what life with us would be like. Once the profile book is finished, we will officially become a "waiting family." We are feeling excited, nervous, hopeful, among many other things right now! Baby Doss could arrive very quickly, or it could take a while. We have no idea what to expect, but we DO know that God is with us and will take care of us whatever the case may be. We completed our home study this past week, and we are now waiting for the write-up to be complete, and to find out if we are approved! The agent who conducted our home study was FABULOUS. She was so kind and patient with us- even when our pup, Ellie, had an accident on the floor out of excitement.
During the waiting, we have been staying busy working on our profile book and dreaming of plans for baby Doss' nursery.
