Early in our dating life, we were sitting on barstools over a drink before going to a movie. The topic of having a family came up and we decided that we wanted to become parents one day. We talked about options and adoption came up…. And HERE WE ARE!!
We have been accepted to an adoption agency and are quickly working through the process to become “Parents in Waiting” and be matched with a birth mom. We believe wholeheartedly that there is a brave woman making the difficult decision of adoption who will give us the beautiful gift to allow us to become parents again. This decision was not taken lightly, and we know that it takes a village to love and teach a child. We are grateful for the ones in our village as it spans across the globe. Thank you for the support through love, encouragement, prayer and if you choose, financially. There are no words to fully describe how grateful we are for our friends and family, and that we get to go through this next journey with y’all too.
We were surprised and blessed with a call Monday, May 29 that we were chosen by a brave family choosing adoption, and chose us to be her parents. The emotions have been high and we are truly honored and blessed to become parents of a daughter. Arik is over the moon with his new sister, and such a proud big brother. Thank you to everyone who donated, prayed and supported us in this journey.
Vol. 2
We are officially "Parents in Waiting." The waiting continues, and we hopefully and prayerfully await being matched with someone considering adoption to see our profile and choose to match with us. We will continue to trust our journey, and we lean also on the wonderful support our village provides as well. Thank you for everything y'all do. We will keep the updates going as we move toward our journey.
Vol 1. Lucky for us, our military training has helped us hurry up and wait. We submitted our paperwork and waited for the processing. Then we built our profile and have been working together with our agency to edit and help really show who we are as individuals and a family. We are only a couple of weeks away from this being finalized and moving into the 'Parents in Waiting' category. This is where we begin to learn about potential birth mothers/families who are considering adoption, and they get a chance to learn about us through our profile. When both of us feel we are a good connection we will be 'Matched' where we wait for our little one to be born and join our family.
