We’re Adopting!!!
HOME STUDY COMPLETED and waiting to be matched!!!
Earlier this year, we decided to embark on a journey we’ve put off for years. We have always wanted to adopt, and the initial thought came after we struggled with infertility in 2011. February 2013, we welcomed boy/girl twins through our first and only IVF attempt and knew then our family was not complete. In August 2013, our 6-month-old daughter passed away. We picked up where we left off looking into adoption 5 years later but did not complete the process due to fear. We have done a ton of research, and we are all in. It is also important to us to increase foster and adoption awareness.
Black and culturally diverse children are overrepresented in the adoption/foster care system. Agencies have difficulty placing children with foster families who look like them. When a long-term solution like adoption comes into play, these constraints still exist. Our family is encouraged and inspired to be part of the solution.
Initially, we were going to foster-to-adopt due to our agency's infant program being closed. We started preparing to accept a school-aged child into our home. Shortly after completing training for foster care, we received a call that the infant program had an opening. It was clear that God had other plans for us.
We are doing everything we can to prepare to welcome a child into our home. Adoption can be costly, upwards of $40,000. It is important for us to focus on expenses related to the child’s arrival as we prepare our home, by decreasing the burden of adoption fees.
We are elated to invite you into this process with us and humbly ask for help.
We will post updates, videos, and pictures here regularly so anyone can follow and support our process.
All donations are tax-deductible. AdoptTogether.org is a project of HOPING HEARTS FOUNDATION 501c3 #27-1966036.
It will take a village to support bringing a child into our home.

We are still eagerly waiting for our match for private infant adoption. However, in January, we expanded our search to include foster care. We recently received our approval letter to adopt or foster, and have been in touch with our caseworker for updates. Although we haven't received any news yet, we remain positive and hopeful. We will continue to keep you posted on any updates.
