Tammy E.
is adopting 2 children from United States of America
A little over 3 years ago I offered to babysit a 10 month old baby girl. I brought her home with me the same day. It was also the same day that I met her and her parents.(yes, the same day).Soon after, her parents moved to a different town and wouldn’t give me their address. And then a little over 3 months later, they had their 2nd child, a boy. I still had the little girl. She had turned one just over a month after I got her. Her parents didn’t attend the birthday party I had for her, because they didn’t have gas. (I later learned that he gets over $4,000 a month, so they certainly should have had gas money). When the baby was 24 days old, they gave him to me, asking me to adopt both of them. My answer was immediate, yes!
I’m single, 62 years old, and now I have two toddlers depending on me. I have hired an attorney and she has been fantastic. I was able to get custody granted to me a little over 2 years ago. My attorney recently took the mother to court and had her parental rights terminated. Dad signed away his rights in April. My next step is the home study and adoption. I need to get some work done outside and then, everything should be done. But, I’ve spent a lot of money on everything and now, I could use some help.
If you can’t help or are looking for your own help, I hope you get the assistance you need. I hope you get the opportunity to love a child as wonderful as mine are. I feel truly grateful to have them in my life. They have made me see through their eyes and I enjoy every single moment. The love they give is worth everything I’ve been through to be able to keep them safe. I just hope that one day they don’t think they weren’t enough. That they were just abandoned by their parents. I want them to think that they were so special that God allowed them to be raised by someone else, who cared more about them than themself. Someone who stuck around when it was tough and will always be here for them. Thank you for reading a tiny bit about our family and our story. Merry Christmas! The days are long, but the weeks are short.
