is adopting 2 children from Jamaica
My sister, suddenly passed away from a heart attack on October 27th 2021. She left behind 2 beautiful daughters, 17, and 9 years old. My sister and her daughters lived in Jamaica up to the time of her passing. I am originally from Jamaica, and currently reside in America, as an American citizen. I arrived in Jamaica on October 29th to take unofficial guardianship of my nieces. I have been in Jamaica ever since, as there is no one suitable enough to provide appropriate care for the girls. Their fathers aren’t able to provide for them in an appropriate manner; emotionally, financially, or otherwise. Plus, all the people I would trust, are unavailable to provide for the girls. I’ve had to make the conscious decision to put work, and my immediate family on hold to personally make sure the girls are safe, and receiving proper care. Adopting my nieces was something me and my sister spoke about before her untimely passing. Now that she’s not around to provide for them, the decision to adopt, is the best case scenario for the girls, and my family. My wife and children played a big role in the decision. They’re waiting with open arms. The decision to adopt is even more urgent now, as the oldest just turned 17 years old. Which mean I now have less than 1 year to get her adopted; per the Hague Convention stipulations on adoptions. She won’t be eligible to be adopted post 18 years old. I urgently need to get the process started, but the costs associated with both adoptions are staggering. However, the need to adopt, and emigrate the girls, still remain as urgent as ever, no matter the cost. PLEASE, help me bring my girls home.
