We are preparing to take one of the biggest steps yet in our journey to bring Lucas home.

When we began the adoption process shortly after Baron turned one, we knew there would be waiting, uncertainty, and many moments that would require patience and faith. What we could not fully understand then was twists and turns our journey would take us on, holding to the hope of finally being together.

After years of paperwork, delays, video calls, and prayers, our adoption is now in the court phase in Honduras. Rather than continuing to wait from a distance, we are preparing to travel to Honduras so that we can have Lucas in our custody while the remaining legal steps are completed.

Because the timeline is uncertain, our stay may last several weeks or even a few months. Megan and Baron plan to remain in Honduras for as long as necessary, while Michael will travel back and forth as work allows. During that time, we will need to cover temporary housing, airfare, transportation, food, legal and adoption-related expenses, and the cost of maintaining our home and responsibilities in the United States.

Before we leave, we are hosting a casual send-off open house as an opportunity to spend time with the friends and family who have carried us through this journey. We would love for our community to visit with us, pray over our family, encourage us, and help send us into this next chapter surrounded by love.

Any funds raised will help support our family during our time in Honduras and allow us to focus on helping Lucas feel safe, connected, and loved during an enormous transition in his life.
