  Home Study Approved!

  Hello friends & family,

  It's been awhile since we have had any updates - but a LOT has happened in the last few months.

  In the fall and winter of 2025, Glen and I began the process of selecting a new adoption agency to work with after we unfortunately discovered that our previous consultant agency (who we'd been working with for nearly two years) had a history of unethical practices. This news came as quite a shock and disappointment both emotionally and financially, but in the moment we knew continuing to work with them was no longer an option for us, so decided to take a step back. We took much needed time to seek the Lord, and pray for His direction as to how or if we should move forward...

  After 6 months, we began to research again (with newfound knowledge) and felt called to consider Flourish Adoption Agency based in South Carolina. After speaking with them extensively and learning about their domestic adoption program, the support they offer to Birth Mothers (both during the adoption process and post-placement), their commitment to serving prospective families, and their track record for upholding adoption law and best practices, we knew God had led us to them.

  We submitted our application to Flourish in January and were accepted on my Birthday in February! God is good!

  Fortunately, during this time we also continued to work with our in state Home Study provider (who's been with us for YEARS - through the tiny home, the temporary apartment move, and into our current home) and she was able to get everything updated and renewed for us right after we were accepted to Flourish!

  We are officially HOME STUDY (re)approved! And accepted to our new adoption agency!

  Home Study Renewal Update

  Hello friends & Family!

  As many of you know, we've been on this journey for many years now and 2024 was an exciting and unexpected year. We moved into our new home in the beautiful Pineywoods forest of Lake Livingston, Texas and were thrilled to be Home Study Approved within the first month after moving in (March 2024). Just one month later, we were impacted by a record breaking storm and then soon after a Hurricane came. Needless to say, it was a year of storms and obstacles that set us back.

  We decided to press "pause" and pray over our journey and focus on recovery -- both of the extensive land damage that occured on our new property, and also our hearts. A lot of healing and restoration took place over the course of last year and we are glad to be entering into a new season -- a "Spring season".

  All that said, we just had our Home Study visit completed (May 2025) and all the paperwork and approval for our renewal should be wrapped up by late this month or early June! As far as next steps, we are continuing to let God lead and are currently reaching out to various local agencies as well as Faithful Adoption Consultants (who we were working with last year but had to pause our relationship with them as well).

  Please join us in praying for wisdom, clarity, and for God to make a way! We aren't sure which path (agency, consultant, local, or none of the above) we will be heading down... yet. We are also inviting our friends and family to keep their hearts and ears and eyes open to potential situations that might be within their communities, churches, etc.

  Adopting with God in the Lead

  February 13, 2023

  Hello and welcome dear friends & family!

  First and foremost, we are beyond thankful for your support, prayers, encouragement, and love and could not have gotten to this point on our journey without you. Many of you know our story has had lots of highs and lows, twists and turns, and has been stop and go - but the Lord has been faithful in and through it all. If there is one thing we've learned over the last few years of beginning and pausing, and changing paths - it's that there is a lot of waiting involved in this journey - and it's often in the waiting where God is doing some of His most important and most refining work.

  This will be a space where we will post updates on our adoption process as they come. Sometime there will be more to share, and other times there will be stretches of "quiet" when we are in a waiting phase.

  We invite you to join us in prayer while in the waiting:

  For Wisdom
  “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” - James 1:5

  For Strength and Endurance
  “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” - 1 Chronicles 16:11

  For Courage
  “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6

  For God’s Will
  “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2

  For the Birth Parents
  “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” - I Corinthians 13: 6-8

  For Protection of our Hearts
  “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” - Psalm 5:11

  For the Child
  “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” -Psalm 139: 13-14

  For Joy
