are adopting a child from United States of America
Help us welcome Kiara’s baby brother into our family!
We adopted our daughter Kiara at birth two years ago, and now our family is preparing for something unexpected and wonderful: the opportunity to adopt her biological baby brother due in October. Keeping them together is something really important to us, and we’re excited to be growing our family!
Adoption is a meaningful and important way to build a family, but it comes with financial challenges. Transparently, the total cost of this adoption will exceed $60,000, due to agency and legal fees across two states, travel, childcare, and birth family support. While we’re both fortunate to be employed, this is an unexpected and overwhelming expense that we hadn’t prepared for.
We’re moving forward with the adoption regardless, but we’re turning to our community to ask for support for anyone who’s able to help. We know there are many important causes that need resources right now, so we don’t take this ask lightly. Any amount of support is truly appreciated. If you’re unable to donate but have hand me downs you’d be able to share, that would be very helpful as well. We had recently donated all of our newborn supplies not expecting this opportunity, so we’re working on gathering items that we’ll need when the baby arrives.
👉 All donations are tax-deductible through AdoptTogether, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
👉 If your employer offers donation matching, your gift may go twice as far—please check your company’s giving portal if applicable.
We are so grateful for our amazing community and any support you’re able to give, whether it’s a donation, a share, a kind message, or simply holding our family and this new baby in your thoughts and hearts.
With deep gratitude, Ross & Alex
