We’re thrilled to share that our journey to becoming parents is leading us to adoption!
What brought us to this point?
From 2019-2023 we went through fertility diagnosis and treatment, including IVF and IUI, but despite our efforts, those treatments did not work. Our hearts were grieved by this loss, but we knew that our desire to be parents was still strong.
We’ve seen adoption bless the lives of others around us, especially close friends who have adopted children. Their experiences have shown us that family is not just about biology; it’s about the love, care, and security you provide to a child. We long to offer that to a child of our own, and adoption feels like the right path.
Through much prayer and counseling with friends who have been through this process, we started our adoption journey in April, and now with our home study complete we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to help make it possible. The expenses involved in adoption can add up to over $60,000, and we’ve set a goal of raising $30,000 to help ease this financial weight that many face.
We are currently in the matching phase, meaning we are waiting for a birth mother and/or father to choose us. For all you prayer warriors, we are praying for siblings - but we could match with a single child before then.

On Thanksgiving Eve, we got the call that we were chosen to adopt our Hugo!
What we expected to be a one-week trip turned into nearly three weeks in Georgia while paperwork was processed. While it was longer than anticipated, we are so grateful for the chance to bond with our baby and navigate this part of the process.
We’re now heading home, and we can’t thank everyone enough for the prayers, encouragement, and support you’ve shown us along the way. This has been an incredible journey, and we’re thrilled to start this next chapter as a family!

Preparing up to this point was so busy, but very satisfying. I am a list maker. I love checking off those empty boxes for choosing an Agency to do our home study, gathering our marriage license, birth certificates, ID and insurance cards, mortgage paperwork, pet vaccination records, doctors clearances, blood labs, fingerprinting, background checks, tax returns, photos of our living area, and our yard, and the outside of our home. Getting all those things done around the house and yard so that it looks like a place someone would want their child to be raised. Having our friends, pastor, family and employers write reference letters, creating a floor plan of our home. Soooo many photoshoots for our profile book (are we influencers now?), writing pieces for our profile book. Hours of education including mother to baby substance exposure, transracial adoption, open adoption and birth mother etiquette. Written biographies for our home study, scheduling our home study, being worried sick that we might not be perceived as good enough to parent a child, Yes, these are things that were going through our minds!
Recently, we presented to our first birth mother. Though she ultimately chose another family, we remain hopeful and committed, knowing this process takes time. Your support and kindness mean the world to us, and we’re grateful for the community that’s surrounding us in this journey.
