We are so excited to welcome a baby into our family through adoption! We believe adoption is a tangible example of the Gospel of Jesus Christ lived out, and we would like to give this blessing to a child in need. - Just as we have been given adoption through Christ's love into the family of God. We are blessed with such an amazing community that stands behind us, and we know this child will be loved and cherished by so many. All four of our kids are so excited about the possibility of having a new sibling. If you would like to take part in the work the Lord is doing, growing our family through adoption and in ministering to our new little one's birth parents, we’d be so grateful!

$19,000 additional before we can be placed with Baby - we're targeting for Sept. as our fundraising total of $24,000 to be prepared for placement (which can be between 6 weeks to 2 years after home study is complete)
$2,000 for finalization costs (approx. 6 months after placement)
Total of $26,000 (or $38,000 if we we're placed with twins! : )
We will be sure to keep you updated on our progress. God writes the most beautiful stories, and we want to thank you for walking alongside us as we make ourselves available to serve a mother and child in need.
Praise be to God, we have been placed with a beautiful baby girl! Ella Rose is flourishing, surrounded by love.
A little back story… After nine months of waiting since our home study was completed in Sept, we were matched with a birth mom in early June. We prepared to love on her and baby, I traveled to meet her (J.R. was out of town) and purchased all the last needed items for a wee baby girl. Only to learn that on her due date, she changed her mind and decided to parent her baby. There were many heartbreaking aspects of her story, which I’ll spare you the details of. We grieved the loss of a baby we had prayed for specifically, but mostly grieved for this hurting mom, all she was going through, and that we wouldn’t be able to minister to her. The following week we received a call about another possible placement - that birth mom chose another family. Just as we began to get back into the swing of normal life, on Friday June 7th at noon we got the call from New Life - our adoption agency. A baby girl had been born the previous night at a nearby hospital. Both birth mom and dad had decided to place the baby for adoption. With no home and no income, wholly unprepared to give stability in parenting, they wanted to give her a more stable life than they currently could. We got to visit with them for several hours at the hospital, getting to know them a bit, sharing with them our appreciation for them choosing LIFE, and making the brave and selfless choice of adoption. We helped with baby as much as they wanted at the hospital and were discharged to take her home Saturday June 8th. It is a semi open adoption. We will be sending pictures and updates periodically to the birth parents, as well as meeting up a couple times a year as it seems good/wise for both families. We look forward to being able to minister hope and share the gospel more fully with the birth parents as time goes by.
We stand in awe of God’s faithfulness. Our home is overflowing with joy as we soak in every minute with our precious Ella Rose. It is such a joy to shower her with love & the knowledge that she is a precious treasure, created by God. Ella has had some challenges, withdrawal symptoms from THC that we’re monitoring closely with our pediatrician. We’re awaiting labs to see what other challenges she might face. But, we are here for her, whatever comes.
Lord willing, we will have finalization of the adoption in court in six months. Until then, we are under the supervision of New Life Adoptions.
Thank you each so much for your prayers, financial support, and love. God has used you to make this possible, and we will be forever be grateful.
Grateful,
J.R. & Amy Ellen
We are still waiting to be matched with a Pregnant mom & Baby in need. We were Home Study approved on Sept. 4th 2023, and have been ready and waiting since then.
We wanted to let you all know that God has supplied all our current financial needs for this adoption! We are overwhelmed by God's grace in this and want to thank each one of you who have so generously given!! We were accepted for an Adoption Grant by two different ministries which have filled in the remaining costs needed.
J.R. and I attended a pre-adoptive parent seminar this past weekend hosted by our agency - New Life Adoptions. It was great to learn more about what to expect during placement, navigating a possible open adoption & ministering in an ongoing relationship with birth-mom, as well as many other topics. We got to meet several families who have adopted through New Life and hear their stories. Then, most impactful, was the blessing of meeting and hearing from two birth mom's who placed their baby for adoption in Christian families with New Life. How they went from fear and desperation at the realization of pregnancy, considering all their options - including abortion, and then finding hope, love, counsel and support through New Life. - Determined to give their baby a stable life that they could not give, how happy they are now, that their baby is now thriving in a stable happy home. Walking through the grief of this incredibly difficult decision through their story was so moving. They are the heroins for choosing LIFE for their baby.
We are eager and excited to serve in this way whenever the need arises. Thank you for walking alongside us in this journey. We would value your continued prayers for the Mom and Baby who God may bring to us.
J.R. and I had our first meeting with our social worker yesterday at the Adoption Agency. It was a full four hours of questions & conversations about; our marriage, kids, parenting style, goals for education, perspective re. the birth mom’s decisions, preparation for raising an adopted child etc. etc. It went really well and we are so grateful! Monday morning she will come check out our home and interview the children. We’ve been working hard to get our house ready - deep cleaned, organized stash points, painted the master bedroom in prep for Baby, weeding gardens and more. We are so grateful to have made it past another milestone and look forward to Monday.
We’ve also completed our Family Biography Photo/’Our Story’ book and ordered those, to be shown to expectant moms.
There are several pregnant moms due shortly, needing to place babies, so we’ve been told to please be ready soon. We are excited! We now need to raise the remaining $19,145 to reach the $26,000. We value your prayers and support. Thank you to all of you who have already so generously given financially, we are so very grateful! Would you please consider sharing this on your social media?
Blessed and Grateful,
The Haas Family
We’re praising God, we’ve scheduled our first Home Study meeting for Sept. 1st! It’ll be a series of two meetings with our social worker. This means we’ve completed the main part of our paperwork. Hurrah!!! We’re now preparing our photo/biography album for mothers to learn about our family. Once our Home Study is complete we are officially available for mothers to select us to place their Baby! 🙌🏼 We’re praying for that Mama & Baby, that God may be preparing for us to help. Thank you all for your support & prayers!
Praise the Lord!!! We have surpassed our first fundraising benchmark of $5,000. Thank you to all of you who have been supporting us through prayer and financial contributions. This is huge as it allows us to pay for and schedule the home study, once we complete our paperwork.
Once we complete the home study and have been fully qualified, we will enter the selection queue for placement. Then our family bio - photo book - will be presented to birth moms by New Life Adoption Agency for them to choose whom they want to place their child with. Before being placed with a baby, we will need to pay the agency in full.
We were pleased to find out how much the agency does ministering to the birth mothers during our visit with the executive director. The mothers who enter the program receive professional counseling and have their prenatal and hospital expenses covered as needed. We were grateful to hear how this agency, that has been around for 40 years, takes seriously ministering to these mothers in need.
We covet your prayers and support as we continue on this journey committing ourselves to loving a birth mom and baby in need.
Soli Deo Gloria
