are adopting a child from United States of America

We are adopting a child!

We are starting an adventure to grow our family through a private domestic infant adoption. Our road to parenthood hasn’t been easy as we have been struggling with infertility, and after many prayers and discussions, we have decided to adopt. Dennis and I feel that this is God’s call for us, and we hope you will join us on our journey to grow our family!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything possible to prepare our home and our hearts for this bundle of joy. The process of domestic adoption is very complex; with that, the adoption-related costs can range between $50,000-$85,000. These costs include things like: a home study, to ensure the homes children are placed in are a safe and loving environment, and marketing our family to potential birth mothers to ensure each child gets placed in a home that is a “perfect fit” for them. In addition to these initial costs, we will also be providing funds to ensure that the expectant mother’s needs are met throughout her pregnancy such as housing, counseling, and medical bills. The agency we have chosen will also use our funds to continue providing counseling and resources to our child’s birth mother long after the adoption which will be critical to her long-term well-being.

Adoption agencies require that you have the financial means necessary to support these goals before you begin marketing yourselves to potential birth mothers. The agency we have chosen has estimated our costs to be $75,000, so we have set a goal of raising $60,000 to help ease the financial burden. We would love for you to consider partnering with us financially to support this journey towards growing our family!

If you have any questions or want to learn more about the adoption process and why the cost is so high, we are happy to talk.

We have put our faith in God and know that He will match us with an expectant mother in his own time. While we wait, we want to show this child how loved he/she is.

Thank you for being a part of our journey! It truly takes a village.

Love,

Lisa and Dennis

    First Court Hearing!

    October 1, 2025

Today we had our first court hearing for the transfer of custody. Your prayers, thoughts, and support mean the world to us during our journey to become a family. Zeppelin is thriving and has blessed our family in so many ways. With the holiday season upon us, we look forward to the firsts we will experience as a family. As we prepare for the finalization hearing in six months, we ask that you continue to pray for Zeppelin's birth family.

    Mothers Day

    May 11, 2025

I sit here on my first Mother’s Day, thanking God for our little boy who has been living with us for almost three weeks via temporary custody! He has already won our hearts. We are completing the home study and getting ready to move into our new home. Once we finish the home study process we will receive our initial court date. From there it will be about another 6 months before the adoption is finalized. We want to thank everyone who has supported us through this journey. We are over the moon with how quickly everything has happened. We ask for continued prayers as we work to complete the adoption of our son. Today we honor his birth mom as she will always be part of our family.

    What A Whirlwind!

    April 11, 2025

Lisa's spring break brought many fast-paced and exciting changes into our lives. It started with us putting our condo on the market, and within a few days, it was under contract with a quick closing date. We planned to move into an apartment temporarily while we took time finding a new home, putting adoption work on hold. We wanted to be in our new home before starting the home study. God, however, had other plans. On March 22nd, someone we know reached out wanting to know if we would be interested in adopting a little boy they knew. Without hesitation, we jumped. A few days later, we met him and his family. Scrambling, we set to work contacting a lawyer who put us in touch with a local agency that works with private adoptions. This is not the journey we imagined adoption would be, but God has plans we could never imagine. Now the pressure was on to find a new home. We put an offer on a home and it was accepted! We close on the new home in mid-May. There are still many steps that need to be completed before this little boy can join our family. In the meantime, we ask you to pray for him, his family, and our family.

    Update

    February 23, 2025

Dennis and I have recently met with our adoption specialist. She has been very comforting and helpful as we proceed to the next steps. We are starting our family profile and video. These will be shown to expecting mothers who are considering adoption once we go active. As we prepare our profile and wait to go active Dennis has been busy at work shoveling all the snow lately. I have taken up a new hobby, sewing. Creating stuffed animals has been a source of calmness and relaxation during this time. We appreciate all your support and continue to ask for prayers.
