We are really excited to announce that we are adopting a child! We are doing everything we can to make sure we are prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. In doing so, we have started this crowdfunding campaign to help us with adoption related expenses. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related expenses can easily be over $35,000 and continue to rise. This is why we’ve set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms hopeful adoptive parents like us. Hello friends and family. We have officially completed the home study! This means that our home has been signed off as ready for a baby! We are now working with A Step Ahead adoption agency to be matched with a birth mom and placed with a baby. In order to get this process started, we need about $3,500. This will cover the up front costs of the consultant, and a financial planner to help us through this process. Additionally, we will work with a designer to create our personal family profile book. This book will be shown to birth mothers and provide them with photos, and short stories about us. The information in the book will allow the birth mother to get to know us and decide if she thinks we will be a perfect fit for her baby! Thank you again for your love and support!
Yesterday, we received our completed home study to do a final review for accuracy. If you don't know, the home study process is where the social worker visits our home, and interviews us multiple times to ensure we are going to be safe parents for a child. We are currently reviewing the home study documents and will sign the form in the coming days. Once the form is signed, we could officially welcome a baby into our home. The only thing missing from that equation is a baby... That is why we have begun talking with an agency based out of North Carolina called A Step Ahead adoption services. In order to begin working with them, we need to have at least $3,620. This will allow our family profile to be shown to potential birth mothers and will soon (hopefully sooner than later) match us with a child!
