Patrick and I have exciting news: we are adopting a baby!

Patrick and I both graduated from St. John’s College in Annapolis in 2010, and were married just a few weeks later. As a couple, we have always felt called to be parents (and even picked out a dozen names early on), so, after 14 years of marriage, we are thrilled to be preparing to welcome a new life into our family. We have spent a long time discerning whether we were ready to open our home and our hearts to children through adoption, and have decided that we are ready; we want to give a child all the love, care and opportunities we are able.

Unfortunately, adoptions are expensive, which is why we have started a crowdfunding campaign to help cover our adoption-related costs. The adoption agency fee alone is $20,000, and that doesn’t include attorney’s fees, etc.

Even if you are unable to contribute financially, please keep us in your prayers, that our adoption may proceed smoothly and quickly. We hope that by inviting you into the process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he or she grows up.

Although we don’t yet know how long it will take until we can bring home our baby, we can’t wait to take this step to grow our family!
