Hello everyone! We are so excited to announce to you that we are starting the adoption process! Many of you are familiar with our story, but for those of you who aren’t, here’s a quick overview:
We met at Messiah College in 2007, quickly began dating, and ultimately fell in love not long after. After a year-long engagement, we were married in July of 2009.
After several years and several significant life events, we learned that Meghan would not be able to conceive due to complications related to cancer treatments she had undergone in 2012. Although Meg had always had a desire to adopt, this was a clear indication that adoption would be part of our story.
Over the years, we have taken great comfort in knowing that the Author and Perfecter of our faith has always been, and always will be, in control. God has been so gracious and merciful in His dealings with us and has proven Himself time and time again to be faithful, even in the midst of extreme heartache. Because of this, we recognize His hand in this process and walk confidently toward becoming parents.
At this time, we have both felt led to choose the path of infant domestic adoption. Although there are many variables, the average length of time to adopt is estimated to be between two and three years, at a cost ranging from $40,000 to $50,000. This is why we have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We know that there is no shortage of giving opportunities, but would you prayerfully consider partnering with us in the fundraising process? If you don’t feel led to do that, we would be so grateful if you would pray for us as we continue down this path. Please pray that the Lord would be faithful to provide, and that He would prepare our hearts and minds for parenthood.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for joining us on this journey!
