We’ve been going through infertility treatments over the past year, but was unsuccessful. In Dec ‘24, we participated in a trend where you wrap a baby blanket, place it under the Christmas tree, believing that within the year, you’ll be pregnant or holding your baby. While we don’t put our faith in old wives’ tales, we do believe in faith. So, we joined in—we wrapped the gift and wrote, “We ask in faith that You plant a seed of life and give us a child.” We planned to try another round of IUI in Jan ’25, but I didn’t feel peace about it. Shortly after, I got a text from a friend I’ve known for 10 years. Back in Nov ’23, God had told me to gift her my second horse—Legacy. It was a painful decision, but I trusted that there was purpose in the sacrifice. Then, in January, this same friend mentioned she was expecting and that from the moment she saw those two pink lines, she knew this baby was meant to be ours. While praying about the opportunity, Ben said, “Do you remember that baby blanket we wrapped? We never said whose womb the seed would be planted.” My own confirmation came through a message from a dear friend. She wrote: “Keep claiming your victory. I feel God impressed that onto my heart for you. I feel He is wanting you to claim the victory that HE WILL do for you in your life. As soon as I read those words, I knew God was speaking directly to me. I asked Him for a clear answer—and He gave me one: Isaiah 30:21 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” On Feb 6th, my birthday, we said yes to adoption! I am so incredibly thankful for my friend who has made the selfless decision to allow us to raise her child. Baby arrives in September, and Ben and I are so ready!
