Our families are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. Makenzie & TJ have decided to take the big step of growing their family through adoption!
From the very beginning of their relationship, Makenzie & TJ knew that adoption would be their path to building a family. We are so thankful Kenzie beat Leukemia at the age of 16, because of this the chances of her having a baby naturally decreased significantly. We know God has His arms around them and we are so excited to watch their beautiful story unfold.
Makenzie and TJ have spent the past three years preparing to start this process. They are now at a point where they have shared with us that they are ready to start planting the seeds to become parents (they filed the paperwork! 🥹).
As some of you may know, there are significant costs that come with adoptions. It may be surprising to learn that adoption-related expenses such as agency fees, legal fees, birth mom costs, and travel can easily add up to $50,000 or more.
Both Makenzie & TJ have hearts of gold and are gracious givers in everything that they do. It's our turn to give back to them (because we know they won't ask for help!)
That's why collectively the families have decided to start a crowdfunding campaign, and we hope you can partner with them on this journey. Your love and support will help them ease the financial burden that so often overwhelms adoptive parents.

Good-afternoon Friends and Family!
We're thrilled to share some exciting news about our adoption journey that unfolded at the end of 2023. On December 7th we received word that a birth mother was interested in us as adoptive parents. We had a zoom call the following day and felt a strong connection with the birth mother. After anxiously waiting through the weekend, on December 11th we received the best news of the entire year- we’re officially matched!! We are rejoicing and praising God for His perfect timing, and for the fact that the birth mother is healthy, has a great support system, and is incredibly kind and sweet. We have already been able to go to an ultrasound and met our baby GIRL who is due April 18th. Please continue to keep the whole process and our growing family in your prayers as we expectantly wait for Emersyn Rae’s arrival!!

Friends and Family,
First, we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who donated, shared, and/or prayed for us during this time.
We are SO close to having our home study completed. You may ask, what is a home study? I asked myself the same thing when we first started.
Home studies vary from state to state. Our home study consisted of things like background checks, drug tests, physicals, and questioners inquiring about (almost every) aspect of your life; childhood, parents, siblings, education, future parenting styles, access to resources within your local community, diversity within your day to day life, and more! To sum it up, lots and lots of paperwork.
Our Homestudy advisor said, "Most of the time, the women handle all the paperwork." I want to highlight and celebrate TJ because he took the reins and managed 90% of this process. He works so hard and is so committed to our family!
While TJ has been focusing on the Homesudy and getting all the paperwork ready, I've been focusing more on the creative side. We have been working on our adoption profile. The agency will show the birth moms the profile if their preferences match our preferences. Our profile consists of a website, a graphic design printout of our profile, and a 2-minute video.
I am excited to share that we are about 95% done with the Homestudy and the profile. Once these things are completed, we will officially be "Active" and "Waiting."
We have peace and excitement in our hearts.
So far, I've bought a few children's books. This has gotten me excited
Once we complete the home study and profile, we plan to start doing even more research, reading, and preparing on how this parenting thing works ;)
