Michelle and Eddie Honath
are adopting a child from United States of America
From the very beginning, adoption has been our first choice when it comes to growing our family. We have always felt a deep calling to open our hearts and our home to a child through adoption. For us, family has never been defined by biology—it’s defined by love, commitment, and the life you build together.
Michelle has lived with Type 1 diabetes for many years. While pregnancy is possible for many people with T1D, it can come with additional health risks and challenges. After thoughtful conversations and reflection, Michelle made the deeply personal decision that she does not want to go through pregnancy. Instead, we feel incredibly grateful that adoption gives us another beautiful path to becoming parents.
Choosing adoption isn’t a second option for us—it’s the path we’ve always envisioned. We are so excited to create a home filled with love, adventure, and support for a child who will be cherished every single day. We look forward to the small moments—bedtime stories, family traditions, school events, holidays, and watching our child grow into the person they’re meant to be.
While our hearts are ready, the adoption process comes with significant financial costs, including agency fees, legal expenses, home studies, and travel. Altogether, the process is expected to cost around $50,000.
Asking for help is not easy, but we know that building a family often takes a village. If you feel called to support us on this journey, any contribution—no matter the size—will help bring us closer to the moment we finally meet our child.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with others means just as much to us.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us and for helping make our dream of becoming parents possible.
