Hi there! We’re the Johnson family- a party of five (soon to be six!) living life with a lot of love, a little bit of chaos, and hearts wide open for adoption.
Adoption has always been part of our family story. Our son, Criston, came to us through the gift of adoption, and two of Mackenzie's sisters were adopted as well. So when we felt the tug to open our hearts and home again, we said yes knowing that adoption is not just a process, it’s a calling.
We’re currently in the process of adopting a newborn baby boy who has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. From the moment we learned about this precious child, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace and purpose. We’ve chosen to name him Shepherd Love, a name that reflects the deep truth of Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." It’s a reminder that God has faithfully led us each step of the way, and that His love surrounds this child already.
The total cost of this adoption is estimated at $26,000, which covers agency fees, legal expenses, birth mother support, and more. This does not include the cost of our home study, travel, or post-placement visits—just the core expenses related to the adoption itself.
We’re trusting God to provide, and if you're here reading this, maybe you’re part of that provision.
Whether you give financially, share our story, or simply pray for our family and this brave birth mother, we are deeply grateful. Every dollar brings us one step closer to bringing our baby home.
With love and gratitude, The Johnson Family (Mackenzie, Adam, and the crew)
