We’re Pamela and Doug Johse, a married couple from Texas. From the very start we knew that a family was a big part of our dreams. When we learned that pregnancy would come with serious health risks, we knew adoption was the path for us, and we couldn’t be more excited for this journey!

Both of us were raised in Texas, surrounded by great friends and family. We were fortunate to grow up in loving homes, and those experiences shaped our desire to create that same supportive and nurturing environment for a child of our own.

Our estimated cost of adoption is $50,000 which covers the agency fees, legal fees, travel expenses, legal costs, and the birth mother’s living expenses during her pregnancy.

We’re working hard to fund as much of this this journey ourselves as we can by setting aside savings and selling baked goods, personalized items to help cover expenses. While asking for support isn’t easy, we believe that family and community are at the heart of this journey.

Every contribution, whether through purchases, donations, or simply sharing our story, is an investment in the life of a child who will one day become part of our family.

    The Home Study is DONE!

    January 30, 2026

    The home study is finally in the bag! We passed with flying colors! The next step is to get our profile in order and continue to raise funds. With the home study complete we're now able to apply for some grants, hopefully those come through!

    The Home Study!

    January 8, 2026

    We're on the books for the adoption home study!

    After that we're working on our profile and book for the birth mother. If you have any photos of or with us we'd love it if you'd share them with me!

    Everything is moving so quickly now! We're hoping to come up with the last few thousand dollars we need by the end of Feb or early Mar.

    Application Accepted!

    December 15, 2025

    Huge day today! Our application to the adoption agency has been approved and we're cleared to move onto the next step.

    From here we get the preliminary background checks done and then start the home study. We've got 4 months to come up with the last bit of the $15,000 down payment which puts us on the market!

    One Step Closer!

    October 21, 2025

    We're very very very close to putting in the application with Adoption Angels! We've gotten most of the paperwork going and have begun preparing for the home study that will start as soon as we're approved by Adoption Angels!

    Progress!

    September 9, 2025

    We want to thank everyone who has supported us with baked goods purchases and donations! With your contribution to the cause we are much closer to having the first down payment, the home study, and the application fee ready to go! We're shooting for Q1 of 2026 to have things in order so the agency can start searching for a match for us. As soon as we've gotten the full approval from the agency and the home study done we can begin applying for grants. If everything goes right with that we should be able to get the ball rolling with the second set of agency fees.
