I’ve said this a million times before and I’ll continue to say it because it’s so true - our family wouldn’t be complete without the love and support from our family and friends! Thank you all so much for journeying with us.
At this time we are starting a fundraiser for costs associated with Emma’s adoption. Typically when you match, you pay a portion of the fees, with the rest being due as the due date approaches. Given our situation, the full amount was due at once. We got the call at 8:30am that we’d been matched, and within 24 hours we had to pay the adoption fees ($45,000). We were able to save up some money, but still ended up having to borrow $30,000. In addition to that, over the course of the next 6 months, we will have to have post-placement visits and check ups. I believe there are 5 that have to occur at $200-$300 a piece. It is required for us to be able to finalize on our adoption, which is also another expense. We will have to hire an attorney who will help us finalize, get Emma a new birth certificate, etc. If my memory serves me correctly I believe that is about $2000.
We are fundraising in an effort to try and reduce the amount that we’ve had to borrow, and for future expenses that we will occur. Emma is 100% without a doubt worth it, but any support from you all means the world to us! We will be doing something similar for Emma as we did with Jaxon, involving puzzle pieces but within a scrapbook. AdoptTogether is similar to go fund me, but specific to helping families navigate the huge financial costs of this journey. Any bit counts, and all those who donate will have their names written on a puzzle piece within her scrapbook for our family to always have and cherish ❤️
