BIG NEWS from the Keppners! We are officially starting the adoption process again! ♥

As some of you know, we began our first adoption in 2020 and were able to bring our daughter, Ellie, home from Thailand in 2022. She is such an amazing little girl who really wants to become a big sister. We know that she is going to be the best big sister and that we all have lots of love to give to a little girl who is waiting for a family!

However, we know there will be some financial challenges in this process. Adoption is very expensive with all the legal and agency fees. Many adoptions cost the adoptive family well over $40,000. We are both teachers, a profession that makes a big difference but not the big bucks.

We are also starting our adoption process with Taiwan, where all of the children needing families have special needs. This means that once we finish our homestudy, we could be officially matched with a waiting child fairly quickly. This means that all those adoption costs may come pretty fast! We would really appreciate any support!

    Making Progress

    July 13, 2026

    After a few months of waiting after finishing all of the paperwork we were initially given, we were assigned a home study social worker! She came to visit last week and is already working on writing up our home study. This is GREAT news, because once she has it written and it gets approved by all the groups that need to approve it, we can hopefully be matched with our little girl! If all goes well, we will be matched within the next couple months. However, as we have learned yet again in this process, the timeline never really goes the way it is expected to go 🤪.

    While we wait for home study approval and official matching, we have been hard at work on some of the next steps that are usually worked on after home study approval. Since we finished everything we were previously given, we are working on completing everything needed for the dossier. One of the items sent to Taiwan with our dossier is a photo profile of our family. It includes pictures of us, our extended family, our home, and community places we like to visit. This will eventually be shown to our little girl! 🩷 I posted one page of the photo profile below so you can get an idea of what our future daughter will get to see!
