Sometimes God’s biggest miracles take a little time. We’ve lived it but the Kuhns are finally a WAITING FAMILY! It’s a title we’ve awaited for what feels like forever. We are now at the final step as we’ve been named a “waiting family” this week. That means we could get a call to go to the hospital any moment and will need to be fully funded, and prepared for our placement and legal fees. It could be a few months or it could be only a few days. We know that God’s timing is no accident and we’ve seen how these years of waiting have been used for our good and His glory. God is writing our story and drawing us closer to Himself as we trust His provision. We see threads but He sees the tapestry. We’ve witnessed our Father’s lovingkindness and can’t wait to testify to His faithfulness.
We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the support already received from people who have rallied around us prayerfully, financially, and practically. Today was a big day! We received the final draft of our adoption profile album that an expectant mother will look through to decide if we are the couple she chooses to raise her child. Also, we were told our home study is finally completed with all the necessary signatures. Now we will watch the mail like hawks for some paperwork to arrive. What's next? We have our admittance meeting before we become a waiting family. The title "waiting family" is a title we've awaited since becoming part of our agency. Waiting. It feels that's all we've done. This time we'll be waiting to be chosen so that our child will forever know our Heavenly Father chose them. That waiting could take months, weeks, or days. The final part is the most financially intimidating because we have to be financially ready to receive the call. Thank you for your continued prayers in this next chapter of the waiting!
From Saturday...
For the past 24 hours I have done everything possible to keep it together but that clock has restarted to zero. I just pulled in from picking up the final street signs and I was overwhelmed. That’s been my word for the last week but I can’t think of any other to truly describe the rollercoaster and spectrum of emotions. The number of people who donated items, the number of people who spent hours at our house this week to help organize, the warriors who worked yesterday and set up in the rain, the servants who came today before the sun to advocate for us by interacting with others, the way my parents have loved us and been with us every step, I don’t want to get over it. For 24 hours my driveway was covered and today items lined all along the way. Today there were far more faces that I didn’t know than those that I did know. We had friends show up which showed out to my heart the way they have stood with us in the valley. Today I got to praise God with them, too, as we celebrated - not only did we meet our hope for today financially but exceeded our God sized goal. We have prayed that we’d raise $3,500 today and the final count was $3,554. Look at God! Money is still coming in from donated items as we are selling some on Facebook Marketplace for greater income. His fingerprints are on our story and we will continue to wait with high hopes and great expectation for what comes next.
