Welcome to our family story page! We have been married 15 years and currently have one fur baby named Ace. After years of struggling with infertility and suffering a miscarriage, we have prayerfully entered the process to adopt and welcome a child into our home and hearts. As you are most likely aware, the costs associated with this can be quite overwhelming. We, along with some family commitments, have raised a significant portion of the potential total, but we petition your financial support along with prayers that God will guide us every step of this journey. No amount is too small, and we thank you for your consideration, loved ones!
On Tuesday we arrived home with our bundle of perfect, peaceful joy, born November 9, 2024 in San Antonio, TX at 5:52am. 7lbs 6oz. 19 3/4 inches.
Matthew means "gift of God" and Deen means "valley." God is good in the highs and lows. He is so so good. 🥹
For all the love, prayers, pleas, hugs, cards, and everything in between, we are grateful for each of you.
It is with heavy, breaking hearts that I share our sad news. The beautiful baby boy that we met on July 29, 2024 did not come home with us. After meeting him face to face, his mother decided she could not terminate her rights. She could not separate from him. She could not let us be his parents. While we know that God has a plan for both families, we were devastated.
We also apologize for not sharing this regretful news sooner. Five days after we came home without a baby, Bryan’s mother fell ill and was admitted to a hospital in St Louis. On August 22, she passed away.
Our hearts and minds, time and energy, have been burdened and tested in ways that we never knew were possible. Please bear with us in this season of heartache and longing.
After a LONG wait for an update, we have a BIG one! We have been matched, and our BOY’s delivery is fast approaching!!
On Monday evening, after a totally routine Costco trip, we got a call in the parking lot from our agency.
“A mom has picked you! She read your whole book and she thinks y’all are a great pick! She loves that you love Jesus, and wants that to be part of her son’s life!”
WOW! When God blesses, he goes big!!
Fast forward and we are hoping to meet our boy in about 48 hours!! What a week. What an outpouring of love we have cherished from the beginning of this journey.
Thank you for support and the sharing of life’s joys and sorrows.
Please pray for Mommy Elizabeth and the health of her and the baby.
GOD IS SO GOOD, Y’ALL.
Dearest friends,
As the hope of Autumn grows and our anticipation and preparation for parenthood increases, we want to again thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do to show how great our support system is.
Bryan was able to build better storage in our closet this summer, which means we can pull our stuff out of the guest room to start transitioning to baby room readiness! We have started collecting itty bitty things, and it feels VERY exciting.
Our home study renewal happened yesterday and we finished our training hours today. We also decided to join a support group called Adoptive Families of Houston recently and met new friends this week.
We can’t believe it’s been almost a year since we hit “print,” so to speak, on our beautiful story book that will allow someone to get to know us and pick us for their baby.
God’s presence throughout every step of the adoption process, our infertility story, our marriage, and our lives is an unending comfort and we feel grateful and humbled to share His Glory with you in these moments.
Thank you for sticking with us. We love you a TON!
Hello dear ones,
Though we have not been matched yet, we are moving forward toward being awesome parents with the help of our assigned training. Our agency, Adoption Angels, had us sign up for a class through The Red Cross and as of last week, we have completed six hours of training and gained certification for both Adult and Pediatric First Aid, AED, and CPR! There is more to come but for now we are feeling confident and blessed in our experience and new expertise; we hope not to need to use it, of course. 😉
Thank you for the gifts you’ve given us to ease the financial burden of things like training and legal fees.
As always, thank you for your continued prayers over our family and the family that we will some day be joined with.
