Christa Lachell
is adopting a child from United States of America
My family has matched with a beautiful girl!
I am reaching out with a request for help to bring our girl home. We have been matched with an incredible 8-year-old girl who has autism. She is a sweet, resilient child full of joy, and we (my daughter and I) are eager to welcome her home and provide the stability, support, and care she deserves.
As both a foster and adoptive parent, I have completed the necessary licensing requirements and prepared our home for her arrival. However, there are now some unforeseen costs. Since our cutie is from out of state, her placement falls under the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC). This means that my agency is now requiring me to cover the costs associated with the home study and agency fees. Unfortunately, progress on her placement has halted until these fees are paid, leaving our cutie waiting to come home.
Foster care adoption is typically a low-cost endeavor, however, these unexpected expenses have put a slight strain on my ability to finalize her placement. I am reaching out to ask support for the remaining cost of these unexpected expenses. Your help will allow me to focus on covering all of her doctor visits, ABA supports, and medication costs that we will incur until her insurance is in place here in Minnesota. Will you consider giving in support of our family. Your generosity will directly facilitate the completion of the required paperwork and bring us one step closer to being together as a family.
In addition to your support, I would greatly appreciate your continued prayers during for this adoption. If you would like to talk more with me about my heart for adoption and my journey thus far, I would love to connect with you directly. If you are unable to contribute financially, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this process. We are trusting the Lord to guide us every step of the way, and your prayers mean so much. I will provide updates here as things progress.
Thank you for considering!

TRAVELING
June 26, 2025We are meeting our little cutie on Friday! THAT’S TOMORROW!! We fly out early in the morning. I’m feeling a whirlwind of emotions—excitement, overwhelm, anxiety… all the feels. We are taking a long weekend to spend time together to help us all get more acquainted with each other. It feels like this journey has taken both forever and no time at all to reach this point.
Please pray that this first visit brings confirmation for our family. I hope for a defining moment or action that provides clarity for us and everyone involved. We would greatly appreciate your hopes and prayers for a wonderful time together and for safe travels filled with grace.
Thank you for journeying with us! -

Update 1
GRATEFUL
May 19, 2025I am truly blown away and extremely thankful for your generosity. I
Thank you, from the deepest parts of my heart. Honestly, creating this fundraiser was a daunting step for me as I do not like asking for help, especially when it comes to financial support. I actually only did it because I was so afraid too. The Lord has shown me repeatedly that fear is not a good enough reason to close a door. In fact, it usually is the reason that I should move forward. Through your support and prayers, I have gained clarity and strength. Now, we are ready to take the next step.Today at 1 PM CST, I have a big meeting with my [social] workers and my cutie’s workers. This meeting will provide answers for many questions in regard to placement process and timeframe. While I feel both excited and anxious, I’m hopeful for an extremely productive discussion. As I mentioned in my previous post, ICPC placements are unique and can often be slow due to the necessary paperwork transferring between states. Therefore, the timeline can vary drastically from case to case.
How you can help? Please pray! If you see this before 1pm today, May 19th, please pray that the meeting would be informative and efficient, and that important topics can be addressed today. Pray for everyone involved to continue to keep the best interest of our little cutie in mind. Please pray that the Lord would continue to be in every step of the process. Thank you so much!
