On October 14, we learned we were picked by a family to be the adoptive parents of their child. On October 23, we were able to meet the couple, Josh and Ariel, and make an official match. We spent the next few weeks making trips to visit Josh and Ariel (they’re LOVELY). On November 18, we learned Ariel would be induced the following day. On November 20 at 11:20 p.m., Easton Chandler made his grand entrance into the world!! What a whirlwind!

We have so much to be grateful for. We’re grateful to Easton’s birth parents for trusting us to be his parents. We’re grateful for the friendship that has grown between us, and above all, we are grateful that Easton will be able to have a relationship with them as he grows up.

Now that we are approaching the finishing line of our adoption, the real expenses of adopting a child have arrived. Between agency fees and legal fees, the total will likely be over $35,000. This doesn’t include the usual expenses a family incurs when building their family (crib, car seat, stroller, etc). If you would like to help us by contributing towards the adoption expenses, this crowdfunding opportunity is tax deductible and funds go towards those extra costs associated with adoption.
