Andrew and Ande are adopting a BABY!
It may take a village to raise a child, but it seems it takes an extended community to adopt one.
After several years of attempting to have a child and facing the reality that it’s medically ‘highly improbable’ for them to carry a baby to term. Andrew and Ande are embracing the ability to create their family another way - through adoption. Their desire to have a child and the love they have to share is not diminished by their inability to have one of their own.
Ande and Andrew are faithful believers and know that God’s desire is for them to have a child. They have begun the adoption process through Colorado Christian Services. The agency requires them to not just profess to being Christians but to commit to raising the child in a Christian home, surrounded by a loving, supportive community. The agency encourages group funding, as opposed to borrowing money or having just family donors pay for the adoption. They've found this type of funding is much healthier way to meet the overwhelming fees needed to adopt. This is where you, Ande and Andrew's community, comes in. They need help to fund the adoption.
Though there are many, many unwanted children born every day, the costs, lengthy procedures, laws, and red tape involved in adopting just one child are astounding. It takes a minimum of a year and between $35,000 to $50,000 to adopt a child in Colorado. Andrew and Ande have planned and saved for adoption, but find saving all the funds needed to adopt and those needed to care for the baby, is daunting in these high cost-of-living times. They both have college degrees and work full-time, but once they pay their bills, save for their future child, and pay the mortgage on their modest home, there’s not a huge amount left over.
Emotionally, the adoption process seems to take forever, but financially, the bills involved in adopting a child come rushing in once the process is started. Andrew and Ande fully understand the economy has put financial pressure on many people, but even small donations add up when the community comes together in support. They want you to know if you aren’t able to contribute, that’s okay - your prayers are greatly appreciated too.
You can contribute by name or anonymously and know beyond doubt that your help is an act of love that is deeply appreciated. Funds will be used only for adoption fees.
Will you be part of the community that makes this adoption possible?
