After a lot of prayers and a trip to Latin America this past October, we were guided to a beautiful 13-year-old girl in need of a family. There is an incredible story of how we found her but we are being asked to not share those details at the moment.
She is a sweet, healthy, happy young lady and we are all looking forward to her joining our family. Our adoption agency has been great to work with. Our home study is complete and we submitted our letter of intent to adopt to the government in Colombia.
We have a lot of our other paperwork done for our Dossier and so we are hoping it will move fast to bring her home. We are praying to have her home this Summer.
We are continuing to learn Spanish and have been doing some training on adopting an older child. We realize this is not going to be easy but we know that we are doing the right thing.

We received a message on Friday that our Dossier was finally being reviewed in Colombia and that we have a small addendum we will need to file. Waiting for that info and then we will be able to get our approval and match.
We were able to send in our I800-a in to the immigration office (USCIS) for approval. Now we wait.....and pray it goes quickly. Thanks you all!
We are super excited, we were able to send our Dossier to our agency for review and to get certified. We are still waiting on our USCIS in order to submit the Dossier to Colombia after.
