We're adopting!
We have both had a desire to adopt since before we met. We knew we wanted to have biological children first and then adopt, simply because we believe it is a beautiful picture of the gospel and we wanted to provide a safe and loving home to a child that may not otherwise have that opportunity.
Many of you know (at least the cliff notes version) about Emery's dramatic and terrifying birth story. After some promising talks with my doctor, I was willing to try again, despite nearly losing my life the first time. In 2021, I experienced two back-to-back miscarriages. This was devastating to us and it's a pain that I would not wish on my worst enemy. During the last pregnancy, my blood pressure was already spiking to concerning levels despite only being about 8 weeks along. This was the first sign of issues experienced with Emery's birth, so it made us very nervous.
All that to say, after careful and prayerful consideration, we have decided to continue growing our family through adoption. Emery is more than ready to be a big sister and we are way past ready to have another little person to love on. We appreciate your love and support as we start this journey. As adoption is costly, we also ask that you prayerfully consider donating to our fundraiser. Of course, there is no pressure and if you are not able to give financially; we ask that you please, love, support and pray for us along the way.
