Jon and Halye Lenz

are adopting a child from Colombia

Hello! We are the Lenz Family. We currently are a party of four- but through a promise from God will soon be a party of five. No, we are not hoping to be pregnant soon- we are embarking on an epic adoption journey! To date our family consists of Jon, Halye, Elle (2) and Camden (1). We are so thankful and blessed to have beautiful, thriving and healthy children, though we have so much more love still available for another child- one who is one of the 40 million orphans worldwide.

I (Halye) was at a youth conference in Branson, Missouri when I was 12 years old when an overwhelming presence came upon me, and I began to weep with the intensity. It was revealed to me supernaturally that I would adopt one day. At 12 years old that seemed absolutely wild- because I hadn't ever thought yet about what my adult life would be like. Now that I am more mature in my faith, I know without a doubt it was the Holy Spirit. Through the years following- 15 years- to be exact; my passion for orphans and adoption grew tremendously- it was like I was born with the desire but didn't know until God branded a life long mission into the deepest layer of my soul, It was a fire that was thrown gasoline. Never did I have a second thought about it, I knew I was given a mission to help the orphan crisis. Even if that meant, finding and bringing home one forgotten child.

You will often find me saying God is a poetic God- because I married Jon, who is adopted from Brazil. His mother had a similar desire from a young age, and flew to Brazil by faith- to bring Jon home. Learning this story and seeing how many lives (including Jon's) this act positively impacted- only excited me more.

Jon and I had two children after we were married, Elle and Camden. A perfect little girl and boy. Both of my births were incredibly traumatic due to my body unable to regulate its blood pressure during pregnancy. I felt the ache and pull in my heart for the orphan that I knew belong with us.

One night Jon and I were both awaken from our sleep with two very different but very specific messages from the Lord. God had called Jon into ministry- and had told me NOW was the time to start pursuing the adoption. We have both learned that when God speaks a now to you, you hit the ground running. We obeyed and began our adoption journey while Jon is simultaneously in school to become a pastor. Financially, we are a one income house hold. I stay home to nurture and protect our kids in a christian environment. They will all be homeschooled. While Jon works as a school protection specialist to provide for our family. We know finances will never stop God. We pray that through our story and testimony God will spark a desire for others to come along side our journey, in whichever way he calls that of them. We have dreams to further help the orphan crisis in the future, we know that at the moment our part in God's journey is to bring a child into our family and love them forever. We appreciate your time in reading our story!
