We are so excited to be adopting a child!
We are thrilled and we are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome this new tiny life into our family.
As part of the adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $60,000 or more. This is why we set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive families.
We hope you know that when you give, your money goes directly toward the betterment of this sweet life.
Some adoption related costs include: -Living expenses for the birth mother (rent, food, clothing/toiletries, transportation) -Birth Mother's Medical Expenses: -Hospital -Obstetrician -Anesthesiologist -Baby Medial Expenses -Pediatrician Adoptive Service Fees -Adoption consultant -Adoption services (agency fees) -Finalization -Travel and stay for picking up the baby -Advertising fees for adoption agency Birth mother's counseling and post- birth services
Please also join us in praying for our birth mother and father. This sacrifice is not small and we want our child's birth parents to feel loved and cared for throughout this process.
With love, The Lewis'
Hi everyone! Thank you for your continued prayers and support in this journey. The past week has been rough and a rollercoaster of emotions. Yesterday our case manager called Josh and I and advised up that it would be best to "move on" from the situation we are currently matched with due to various reasons that are out of our control. It truly is heartbreaking. We are in talks with our case manager about next steps and what the future may hold.
Please continue praying for us and for this birth mom. Also, please pray for her baby, that he will end up in a loving, consistent family that can give him what he needs to thrive. We know that God is in control and he is a God of miracles. Thank you for checking in, caring, and continuing to follow along in this journey. We love and appreciate you all!
Josh and I have been asked if there are any updates on the baby. There are so many factors at play right now, that we really can’t give a whole lot of information, but here’s what we can share:
The baby was born this week. He is in the nicu and he’s spent lots of time with his birth momma. In short, this is a huge emotional decision for her, and one that requires also receiving buy-in from her family. We talked to her last night and she is very excited about us. We prayed together, talked about work, and the overall health of the baby. We also received pictures of the baby, which is so sweet!
To be completely honest, we’re not quite sure how this is all going to end. As much as we want to say that we’ll have a baby at the end of all of this, this ultimately has to be the birth mom’s choice, and we understand it’s a weighty decision for her. Please pray for her. Pray for her heart and her mind. Pray for peace in whatever decision she makes and that she will have love and support from her family. Pray for the baby, that he will continue to get healthy and have a full recovery with no long term effects from illness. Finally, please pray for josh and I. Pray for patience and for us and for finances to come through as we anticipate a lengthy out of state nicu stay if this ends with us parenting.
Thank you for following along, caring, for asking. We appreciate all of you!

This past week has truly been a whirlwind, but an incredible blessing too. When we presented to this sweet little boy’s birth momma, we really only had very basic information. However, we stepped forward in faith knowing God would equip us for any possible outcome. Today, we learned that the birth mom went into the hospital and got an ultrasound. We got a picture from our case worker, and it was our first time seeing her little boy, which made everything very real and super special. We also learned that everything is looking really good and she’s measuring at 37 weeks and 1 day. We are so excited and can’t wait to meet this little guy who will hopefully become ours very soon!
As we continue to wait, please continue praying for his expecting momma. I truly can’t imagine the emotions, thoughts, questions and doubts she may have. Pray for her heart to find peace as she processes this decision. Please pray for her to feel loved and seen throughout this process, and pray for her health and healing both emotionally, mentally and physically as she continues along in this process. Also, please pray that she would be open to meeting Josh and I. We want to meet and have a relationship with the incredible woman who will be giving us the best gift we could ever receive.
Thank you for being along in this journey with us 💙
By the grace of God, we have been matched with a sweet baby boy due November 25th!! We are over the moon in excitement for this little one to join our family!
While we are matched, there is always a risk of a disrupted adoption. The expectant mom has gone through extensive counseling to understand the commitment of making an adoption plan, but she can still change her mind. We want to be transparent in sharing that this little boy will hopefully be ours, but we are asking for prayer in the meantime.
Another really big aspect of our adoption is our travel plans! This little boy will be born out of Washington State, which requires us to go through the ICPC process. This means that we will be staying in the birth mom's home state until the baby is healthy and cleared to travel across state lines.
While there are so many more details, right now we are asking mostly for prayer. Please pray specifically for:
1. The health of this baby boy
2. The heart of his expectant momma
3. For us as adoptive parents to plan and prepare with the many anticipated twists and turns that we are yet to encounter along this journey
Love,
Josh and Kristin
Thank you so much to everyone for what you have generously donated to us. We are beyond grateful for each and every donation and we can't believe the outpour of generosity we have received.
We have been asked a lot if there are any updates in our adoption process. In short, we still have not matched.
Last week, we presented to a birth mom in Utah through one of the agencies we are working with. The birth mother was looking for a Christian family to adopt her daughter born in mid November. After a week long wait, we found out today that she matched with a different family. We are definitely sad, but we are continuing to pray for her little girl and for the birth mother to feel a life of love and support from this new family.
The hardest part of the adoption process is the waiting. While we are presenting to a birth mother and waiting for her to make a decision, we are unable to present to other birth mothers. It makes sense because you don't want to end up matching with two different cases at the same time, but it's also agonizing because we saw a case yesterday of a birth mom looking for a "childless infertile couple" for her daughter that was born two days ago and we were unable to apply because we haven't yet heard back from the birth mom in Utah. Either way, we know that God is in all of this, and we know that He won't allow us to miss our child and birth mother through this process.
Can you please pray for us and with us in the waiting?
One thing we are learning is that we could see no cases for a month, and suddenly we may see 2 in the same day. While we are sad that we haven't matched yet, we know that it could be a matter of days or months before we have a baby with us. Please pray that we feel peace and patience through this process, especially for patience ;) Second, please pray for our birth mom. We know that this process has a happy ending for us, but not necessarily for the birth family. Pray that they feel loved, cared for, and for peace through this process as they navigate tough decisions in the coming future.
Thank you so much for your continued love and support.
