Dear friends and family,
We are SO excited to finally get to share our big news with you! Though we’ve been praying about this for over a year, it was in our hearts long, long before that. It was an important conversation we had while we were dating because, though we had no idea what the timing would look like, we knew adoption would be a part of our future and our story.
As we began to feel it was something that was to happen sooner rather than later, we deeply prayed into it, and had multiple conversations with an adoption consultant. Then, back in the fall of last year, a sermon was preached at our church about stepping out in faith and obedience to the things that God is calling you to do. Without speaking to each other, we both heard God saying that for us, that meant moving forward with adoption!
A few days later, on November 9th, we were still nervously hesitating—until we learned that it just happened to be world adoption day! God was so kind to bring so many confirmations. We contacted our adoption consultant that night and told her we were ready to jump in fully!
It’s common knowledge that adoption is expensive(but so worth it!) We have 50k+ expenses toward our adoption. We chose to invest in working with a consultant agency (Christian Adoption Consultants) because they thoroughly vet every adoption agency and only connect us with ones that are honest, ethical, and honorable. The majority of expenses are agency fees, but others will go toward taking care of the birth mother (maternity clothing, medical care, hotel fees, therapy and counseling) because we and our agency want to make sure we are the hands and feet of Jesus to her. And of course we will have many, many other expenses such as medical needs, flights and AirBnbs for traveling out of state for multiple trips and lengths of time, etc.
