As many know, my 34-year-old daughter, Whitney Loewen, was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Carcinoma Breast Cancer. Though this type of cancer is aggressive and spread quickly, it was caught early and is treatable. Whitney has a long journey ahead as she undergoes chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy, as well as reconstructive surgery. In addition, because of the aggressive nature of this process, they have been dealt another blow. Whitney’s doctors recommended not pursuing any form of fertility treatment or preservation, as this would have delayed her cancer treatment by several weeks. This ultimately will make it extremely difficult, if not impossible to start the family that Whitney and Scott were looking forward to this year. I have set up this page with the hopes of easing the financial stress they are going to be facing. These donations will not only help cover medical bills, but a portion of the funds will be set aside for future adoption plans. She and her husband, Scott, have and continue to show great strength, bravery and resilience through this difficult time. However, medical bills are beginning to come in and Whitney has had to put her career on hold to focus on her extensive treatment.
Whitney and Scott are looking forward to the end of this process, to complete health and healing, so that they can begin the next chapter of their lives and finally start a family. We want to thank all the friends and family that have reached out to the Loewen’s, praying for and supporting them. They are overwhelmed by all your love and generosity and are truly grateful for all of you and everything you do.
