Hey everyone! It's Barb :) If you're here to learn a little about Zach and I, we've been married for almost 4 years and have a two year old little girl named Lenora + a yellow lab named Tucker. We live in rock hill, South Carolina and spend most of our time with our friends & family, playing outside, & at our church. Zach is a plumber by day and musician by night (haha) he mostly plays with the worship team at our church but has been playing and singing his whole life. I work for myself as a photographer and stay home with Nora, every two weeks I lead a women's bible study in our home & serve locally with the women in the group.
I've wanted to adopt for as long as I can remember. Even as a teenager, I believed so deeply that every child deserves a loving home and that every birth mother deserves a safe place for her child.
When Zach and I got married, we knew we would adopt but we weren't sure when or where or how… After our daughter turned 1, God started pushing us to start the process. We were willing but weren't very educated on the process.
Thankfully, God had a plan and had planted our friends, Hannah & Zach, in our lives a couple months prior. We got to see them walk through their adoption & bring home a baby girl. This opened the door for us to work with our agency, Christian Adoption Services.
Before we knew it, we were accepted by the agency and started moving through all of the requirements (educational courses, background checks, financial statements, and home study). The total cost after everything will be upwards of $35,000. We knew we would need to fundraise, we were scared & hesitant about it but the further we get into this process, the more we hear from others "we wanted to adopt, but we couldn't afford it." What a sad reason to prevent a child from receiving a home.
We serve a God who is so beyond finances. A Savior who heals the sick and gives sight to the blind. What is money to stop us from pursuing what He has in store?
We believe with confidence that adoption is a foundational piece of the gospel and that we ourselves were adopted into the kingdom of God. So, we will not be quiet about what God has done already and will continue to do through our adoption story.
We will continue to post updates onto this site as we move through the process! (We are hoping to bring home a child at the end of 2024)
PS Grateful isn't even a good enough word for how we feel for every person who has sowed into our adoption. We are overjoyed, full of hope, encouraged, blessed, humbled and beyond thankful.
“He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will” Ephesians 1:5 (ESV)
Hey everyone!
Our silent auction was a beautiful evening full of love and support. We are so so so grateful to announce we were able to put close to $4,000 towards our adoption.
A loud reminder that God is absolutely faithful and will see His plans through.
Thank you to every single person who takes the time to read these updates and has been generous towards our adoption. Words aren't enough, we are so grateful!!!
Hi all!!
We are so so so excited to share that between the worship night, T-shirt fundraiser, a very generous donation from LifeWay Church, and donations from friends (and strangers!) we've reached our first goal of $10,000. This will allow us to become a "waiting family" meaning we become available for placement. We will still need $25-$30,000 before we will bring a child into our home, and we plan on applying for grants as soon as we complete our home study and we are praying that will provide upwards of $5,000. Please join us in that prayer.
We are hosting a silent auction on Feb 24th in Rock Hill, SC and would be so honored by your presence.
All our love,
The Ludlams
Hi everyone!
We are so excited to share that due to the generosity of everyone who attended our worship night on Sunday, we raised over $2,000 for our adoption. We are completely blown away. We were hoping to raise $600... How typical of God to go above and beyond for us.
I think what blessed us most of all, was seeing every single face that walked in the door to support us. Knowing we have a village full of people who love us, encourages us to keep pushing.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
- Zach, Barb, and Nora.
