In case you haven't already heard, we're growing the Martel family by one more! And… we need your help!
When I lost my parents and grandmother, family was honestly something I never thought I would find or feel again. But in adopting my daughter Nashly from Colombia, my life has been filled with a joy unlike anything I have ever experience before. It has been an incredible journey, and every day I am so thankful to have her as my daughter.
I hosted my Nashly from Colombia through Project 143, and her adoption was finalized in 2023. During her process, when we were separated and not allowed to be in contact, I kept a journal of 79 letters that I wrote to her. During that time, I learned that one of her friends, whom she viewed as a little brother, had his adoption fall through. He has been in my heart ever since. And in that very same journal, I made a promise to my daughter that if after she was here a year and was happy and doing well and wanted to have a little brother… if he "happened to still be available", we would go through the process for him. And to make a long story short, that is exactly what is happening! We had the most amazing time hosting him last summer, and we knew immediately that we wanted him to be in our family forever. This sweet, witty, and hilarious soul has been waiting a long time, so we are trying to bring him home as fast as we can!!
Adoption is a long and very costly process, and as a single mom who is self employed and will not have any income during the period of travel and adjustment, I can use all the help that I can get. Nashly and I will be extremely grateful for anyone who like to partner with us to bring this amazing boy home and be a part of making his lifelong dream of having a family come true. We truly appreciate all your love, prayers, and support. Thank you!!
