My husband and I are in the early stages of preparing for adoption. We have found an agency that we want to work with and are hoping to start going through the steps necessary to be approved to adopt a child. A little bit about our story: I (Kat), at the young age of 20, was put into the difficult situation of making a life altering decision for various reasons, health being the primary. In the end, a hysterectomy was chosen as the best option for quality of life. Over the years I struggled to come to terms with the fact that I would never be a mother but ultimately made peace with it. Until I met my husband and he changed everything I had come to accept. We have had our fair share of struggles and hardships, but over the years we have built a life and home based on love and faith. We have walked a long journey of healing on our own and together. We are now at the point in life where we want the opportunity to be parents and raise a child (possibly children) in the loving home that we worked so hard to build and share what we have built with that child. I myself am adopted and I feel called to experience the journey from the other side of it. We feel very blessed in our lives and praying for just one more blessing, the experience of parenthood. All donations will, of course, go towards agency fees, legal fees, and any adoption related expenses. Any funds not used will be refunded or if possible donated to another family in need.
